Steel, Not Aluminum As Claimed In The Description

Description says base plate is aluminum. It's actually steel. That's an important detail, given that aluminum weighs about half as much and is considered to be a premium material of construction.

Smooth Rolling At A Good Price

These skates feel solid and feel that I’ll have them for a while. They feel real smooth skating and got some good speed going. The skates are of course heavier than inline skates, but better stability. They a bit tight for me since I have a wider foot, but they’re manageable. I also hope they’ll mold to my foot a bit over time.

These skates are excellent. They are performing to my expectations.

So far so great! Many reviews I read here and at other stores suggested replacing the wheels immediately. I have found them to be in terrific working order and haven't seen the need to replace anything just yet. Very comfortable, perfect fit/size and I would suggest wearing them with thicker socks especially until you have broken them in and stretched them out a bit. Very happy with my purchase online!

Just What We Were Hoping For

The Chicago Men's Deluxe Rink roller skates are for my husband who loves to skate, but had problems with the rental skates at the local rinks. He is so happy with his new skates! They only needed a minor adjustment of the wheels and he was ready to go. Two hours of skating on Saturday night got a rave review from my husband.

Skates Are Very Comfortable

I went skating for the first time in 30 year with my granddaughter last night. In my younger days I was a very good skater & went about 3 nights a week. I bought these skates & they were great in the way they felt, but on my right skate I was picking up a vibration from the wheels I went over to the skate rinks counter to see what was going on. they said that every thing was adjusted correctly but that the wheels were not perfectly round. So I am now going to have to upgrade to new wheels & may have to upgrade the bearings also if the wheels don't take care of it.

I purchased 3 pair of these men skates. A pair each for my husband and my teenage twin boys. They opted to keep theirs for they have only been on them once for 2hrs. Husband did well with balance with them. My boys are just beginning to learn how to skate and they did as well as to be expected for 1st time skating. On the other hand, my husband does feel the skates are very poorly made but for the price would much rather keep then to use the rentals at the skating rink. I purchased myself a pair of Ladies in this skate and had a totally whole different expeirence as you should see in another review I had posted for those pair. Lets just say my concern now is that my husband and children will be safe while on these skates and I deeply regret purchasing Chicago brand skates and will never again. I would like to Thank Dicks sporting goods for their fantastic customer service, understanding and concern they gave me. They did not even give me a second thought on returning me my money on the Ladies skates I purchased for myself and was deeply concerned and remourseful for my horrible experience and injuries that they caused me.
