Please Read - Two Purchased, Two Returned - Defective Or Bad Parts? I Reviewed, You Decide!
I have bought two of these, from Dick's Sporting Goods, one in the latter part of March 2026, and one in April 2026, and sadly, had to return both. They were both new in the box, boxes never opened, so, I wasn't buying a used Chirp Contour. They came well packaged, so, no issue there. I was so excited to get this because my wife first looked at these and suggested that we try this to see if it would help with our necks and backs, as we spend a lot of time on the computer doing work. I watched videos, read reviews, and purchased. After unboxing it, had it all set up on my big rug in my living room, and before even getting on it, with it plugged in, I tried the controller and the different buttons to see what it would do. No noise, all seemed to work as it should. I'm 6' and 1" tall, 178 lbs., and my wife is shorter and weighs less than me, so, we fall within the guidelines for using the Contour. I get on it and start the massage process, which is the default setting. I can feel it working my back, and at first it was a little uncomfortable but I could tell it was working out the tightness in my back. I turned on the neck massage to let it work, and I moved it down from its home position to let it work my lower neck and shoulders. After a few rotations, it starts getting a squeaking noise on the left side. I press the button again for the neck massage and it then reverses, still making the squeaking noise. I thought maybe it just needed to get broken in and the noise would stop. Nope, after each use, and we only used it between the two of us about 15 times, the noise steadily got worse as now it sounded like an old door creaking each time it rotated with also a clicking noise. On March 30, I contacted Chirp and asked if this is normal or a sign that it is defective, and do I need to take it back to Dick's and exchange it for another unit. On March 31, I received a response from Maddie, and she let me know that the contour should not be making a squeaking noise. “If the noise persists, I would recommend exchanging it at Dicks Sporting Goods.” Customer service is excellent! With that, I took it back to Dick's Sporting Goods, and exchanged it for another one. I explained the issue to the customer service rep at the store, and they gladly made an exchange. They brought me out another one, new in the box. I get it home, get it unboxed, get it all set up to use, and sadly, it is worse than the first one. I can't believe it! This one makes noise from both sides, and is even worse! I uploaded a video to show what it is doing. We only used this Contour 12 times before having to return it to Dick’s Sporting Goods. Does the Contour do what it was designed to do? Yes, the different massage functions, the neck massage, back massage, works very well! We used mostly the soft roller. We always felt better after using it from 20 - 30 minutes. Does it need to be improved? Absolutely! Which I certainly hope will happen, and then I will reconsider making another purchase. In its current state, I question whether anyone will get prolonged use from the Contour before it stops working. The fake leather or vinyl I feel will undoubtedly break down and begin to peel at some time, but my main issue is with the neck massage and it making too much noise. My suggestions would be to make it with a stronger motor, and test each unit thoroughly with a person laying on it and testing every function to make sure it is not a defective unit before it leaves the factory. The neck massage definitely needs to be improved so it does not make any squeaking or creaking or clicking noises at all. I would also recommend that the controller be redesigned so that when the power button is pressed, that it doesn't automatically start the back roller/massage. The neck massage can be operated separately, press once, it goes one direction, press again, it goes the other direction, press again, and it goes off. Once the back roller/massage starts, I couldn't find that any of the buttons, roll, decompress, target, warm up, recovery, relax would make it stop by pressing them. So, the only way to make it stop is with the power button or the change rollers button. So, there ought to be a stop/start button for the back roller/massage. I was sadly disappointed, not once, but twice. I want this product to succeed! I need it, and my wife needs it, but I don't like to spend $550 on something like this that I consider to be defective. Maybe it's too much plastic, I don't know, and I couldn't determine why the neck massage would make the noise when pressure or resistance is applied to it, and that's just it massaging the neck area, which is what it supposed to do but should do without the noise. I can only hope that improvements will be made, a better design, stronger motor, stronger components, better materials overall, and a Chirp Contour 2.0 will be released soon, and then I will be back as a customer to make the purchase and give it a try. Again, I love the concept, and I definitely want the company to succeed, and I want the Contour to succeed! And to Dick’s Sporting Goods, thank you for selling the Chirp Contour, and thank you for the excellent customer service! The customer service reps were great, and I truly appreciated their help! The two stars are for the two defective Chirp Contours that I purchased and had to return. If Chirp would like to send me a new Contour to test, I will gladly do so and give my review. I don't normally review products, nor make videos, but this product I just had to because I really like it, it works, but in its current state, I can't trust that it will last too long before it breaks, and the noise is an aggravation! I like the massage and want to relax when it's working, but with the noise, it's a great irritation! I did make a video but only pictures can be uploaded on the Dick’s Sporting Goods product review page. Chirp, please, please, please get the noise issue resolved! Thank you!

A Great Product
Worth the purchase. This has been an instant addition to my nightly routine. Was hesitant, based on other feedback and reviews, to pull the trigger. But I had a few back challenges, and needed something to change - this is what I needed. I use this nightly and it relieves so much tension and stress in my back. It is definitely on the aggressive side for devices, but it is great. My wife also uses the table, with different settings. It has been a win for use, highly recommend.

Feels So Good - And Hsa Eligible!
This came up in my social media feeds and I have to admit - I was skeptical. But I KNEW I needed some more work on my back to get these knots out and who can afford multiple $200 massages every couple of weeks? Yes, the initial price caught my breath, but once I realized it was HSA eligible - and I had money sitting uninvested in an old account, I figured I'd get it from Dick's around the corner so if it wasn't all that I could return it easily. I tried it the first time and said "It's staying!" This is the same cost as 3 massages at my local indy day spas but I can use it multiple times each week! That knot in my back is *almost* gone....
