I needed a compass to bring along on a trip that could at least give me some sense of direction if needed. For a cheap compass, I'd say it served its purpose. Before taking it into the field I compared its reading to a gps and my phone's reading, it seemed pretty accurate. The first thing I noticed was its floating disk has miminal extra space to balance out in order to give you a reading. Eh. Not an issue. Just a heads up so you don't think it's bad when it's really just how you're holding it. In the field, it worked great. I always suspected it might be off a single degree or two, but it still got me in the right direction and spotting landmarks did the rest.

Awesome Compass
