Purchased as spares for my northern Nova lantern. So far , no problems with burning them in or with the lantern in operation. I strongly suggest reading the instructions on the mantel packet and burn them in before lighting the lantern.

Great Lantern With Great Mantels

After reading a couple reviews saying these #95 mantels are fragile I had to respond. I think they are the sturdiest mantels ever made. I have had them last over a year being used on at least 10 camping trips. I think part of it is I have protective cases for both my lanterns but I am very pleased with them

These clip on mantles are so easy to install, just takes a coule seconds. I love this kind because you only need one and it creates the brightest light.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use two Coleman model 2000 lanterns for Jeep desert camping. They make enough light so I can actually see the stove and table at night. The #95 mantles are fragile after they have been used on the lantern. I had to make vibration isolators for the lanterns to stop the mantles from breaking while offroad driving.

Complicated!

There were no instructions. I had to rely on various you tube videos, so I ruined one before I got it right. Fortunately there are two in the pack. I did spend half the price I would have on Amazon, which was shocking. Over all, now that I installed it properly I am happy. Just be sure to prepare the mantle with a match first and not light it up until you do. Happy Camping!

Coleman # 95 Mantles

Price wise comparable to other retailers but you are guaranteed that Coleman has them as a lot of retailers only carry the old style mantles. Delivery was quick. I just hope that they will keep carrying these in the future as a lot of dealers sometimes wonder what I am talking about as they are different. I bought the lantern because I can't get a globe for my old one which isn't a Coleman but it still works. I will stick with Coleman.
