I ordered a size Small for my 6-year-old daughter who normally wears a size 6 (the jacket fits her loosely which makes it easier to put a thicker shirt underneath as needed). I ordered a size medium for my 9-year-old daughter who normally wears a size 8/10. These jackets are great on cooler days in the 50's. The zipper closure makes it easy for kids to take off and put back on as needed. Highly recommend!
