[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's called a jacket, but I am using it as a thick base layer. It is really hard to find what I call a 3D base layer. Hot Chillys (another brand I like) calls it Mountain weight. A lightweight base layer that is thick yet with enough air in it to support active sweating. My favorite pieces are 10 years old, good ones are REALLY hard to find. I don't want some thick wool base that is going to get soaked with sweat when I run or ski or snowboard so that I freeze when I have to stop (or get on a chairlift). This base layer is perfect for highly active winter activities. It's 3D structure supports sweating and evaporation and the reflective elements keep your body heat in on those long chair lift rides. The tall neck on this shirt is also very useful to keep cold drafts out. I think this one will join my 10 years collection... but I've just bought it. So honestly, I can't speak to it's durability.
