Buyer Beware - The Quality And Look Are Now Awfu

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] BUYER BEWARE - I buy a lot of Columbia products all the time. Never had a problem...until now. This one was a bust. I had one of these purchased at a Columbia factory store years ago. Same model name and features. Now bought this one online, and it's so different. (1) The inside material sheds all over anything you wear under it. Had to wash it 3 times before wearing and the dryer filter got clogged with tons of lint from the inside material. Even after washing 3 times, it still sheds. (2) The seams look awful - all uneven, the stitching and cutting. They look like it was made in someone's garage with dull scissors and inability to see. Seams are uneven and non-professional. I would hope this was a new run at an unfamiliar country not typically used...or Columbia's quality standards are sinking fast. I wanted to show photos, but this site would not allow.

Fuzz. Fuzz Everywhere.

I'm really surprised this is rated so high by other customers. Buyer beware. Inside fleece sheds like crazy. It's almost comical how much it sheds. I even washed it (it left a freaking cake of fuzz in the dryer lint catcher) and it still covered any undershirt with a light coat of fuzz. I had to go through the warranty program and they wouldn't refund my money, which is what I wanted, but they did give me a store credit. Now I'm looking for what to get instead and am a bit wary.

i bought this for my dad. he's about 5'3 and 120lbs - a guy of a small stature. i got it in S, his usual size in jackets/tops (sometimes a M if he wants a looser fit). i think this will fit him well - if it shrinks there may be concerns (i still think it'll fit him) but overall, it seems only a smidge big for a small, but i assume that's where the drying and shrinking comes in. the sleeves are pretty roomy so i think you should be good to layer with this.

Shrinks When Washed

Don’t do what I did. Returned larges and got mediums as the larges unwashed seemed way too large. Once I received my medium replacements that fit great unwashed, I washed them (following washing/drying instruction) and all three shrank. Now useless. So keep the size you normally wear and don’t second guess.
