A Bit Narrow...

Very well constructed, did not fit my somewhat wide foot. I have other Columbia trail shoes, not in wide sizes that fit perfectly. If your foot tends to be on the wider side of the sp3ctrum, this is probably not the shoe for you.

Poor Quality

I liked these shoes, but they fell apart within 2 months of purchase. The stitching holding the fabric to the rubber toe cap came apart completely on both shoes. They are now unwearable. Stitching on the sides started to break as well. Low quality construction. Not made for any serious activity. Def not worth the price.

Undersized Overall, But Perform Well

These shoes are definitely undersized. I wear a hard-to-find size: 15EE (wide), which I wear in every other shoes I buy from New Balance, Samuel Hubbard, Rockport, Clark’s. Columbia is one of only a few manufacturers which make this size. Ordered a 15 Wide and it was definitely too narrow. I returned them to the original seller (Zappos, which did not have anything larger) and ordered 16 Wide directly from Columbia (which did have that size). The 16 Wide fit but was still tight. Like other reviewers, some wearing break in helped and the shoes worked out ok. Like other reviewers, I agree: the tongue is way too short. And the “wide” is more like a traditional “E” width - not a “EE” width. The length is also skimpy: while I upsized to a 16 from a 15, the length in the 16 is like a 15 in all the other brands I mentioned above. Someone needs to check on pattern/lasts being used in the manufacturing plant. So a full size and width difference I think. PERFORMANCE: The shoe needed breaking in but after a few hours, were fine. I used them on hikes in Costa Rican rain forests during rainy season and they performed very well. I has to be sure the laces were over the short tongue - which just barely worked. These hiking shoes kept my feet totally dry in driving rain, puddles, and mud. Great traction in mud, gravel, and sand, and thick sole provided great support over rocky surfaces.

Comfortable But Not Durable Or Waterproof

I bought these to wear as "yard" shoes (i.e., mowing, landscaping, etc.) around the house as they are deemed durable, waterproof and comfortable. They only lasted two mowing seasons; roughly over year so. From the get-go water penetrated these shoes and the toe cap easily tore after scraping something; I super-glued it back together (see picture). After a hand-full of months, they started coming apart where the foot bends. I've had lesser shoes last longer than this. PROS: They are comfortable, have great traction, and feel good on the foot. CONS: They are NOT durable nor waterproof! SIZING: They run a half-size small.

Design Tweaks Ruined A Perfectly Good Shoe

For the price (even on sale), I am disappointed with the shoes. This is a replacement to same model shoe that I purchased not even a year ago, but loved the comfort and fit. Comfort is still there, but fit around the ankle is weird (but has improved with breaking in). Size (width) is a smidge tight. As mentioned in other reviews, the tongue is inadequately short. Even an extra 1/2 inch of material would have been appropriate. More shrink-flation? Going to wear these shoes out, but wont be replacing.
