Rated 3 out of 5 by from Quick Drying pants I bought these pants as I needed some quick drying pants for a week of canoeing in the Boundary Waters. Functionally, they worked well for this adventure. The zip and velcro pockets kept everything in check and the pants dried quickly, which was important due to regular portages. On the downside, there was no choice with pant length, so these pants were more or less "flood-waters", as the 32" inseam doesn't come to my ankles. I typically wear a 36" inseam. So, these worked for the task at hand, but won't be very practical for a lot of other potential uses (unless I start dressing myself in the morning and my wife is not around to check my look). :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very comfortable in hot weather Wore these pants in Puerto Rico in extremely hot weather underneath my waders and felt no issue with the heat or water/sweat. I really value comfort in clothing and these pants are perfect for hot weather. Kept my legs from getting unburnt and bitten by mosquitos while I still felt like I was wearing shorts. Of course I could have unzipped them into shorts which is equally awesome , it really wasn't need because the material is so light and breathable that it felt like there was nothing on my legs.HIGHLY reccommend these to anybody doing labor intensive work outside in hot, humid conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Columbia Men's Silver Ridge 32'' Convertible Pants fit the Bill Wore a pair of these pants/shorts combo last weekend to a NRA sanctioned "2700" Pistol Competition and was amazed at the comfort of them.During the competition, you walk almost a mile while scoring and repairing targets. Also, in this competition, you shoot one-handed while in a standing position (not much time for setting down), but when I could, I noticed that the comfort level was really nice.Stayed comfortably cool with the ripstop material. Will be taking 2 pairs of these pants to the National Competition at Camp Perry, Ohio in July.Would recommend these to anybody in this sport -- "Look Cool and Be Comfortable" !!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bought these for myself I'm kind of short and I had to get the next size up to fit my legs and rear. It's sad Dick's doesn't sell the 28" inseam(my actual measurement) but I got a 34W30L and these are great for work and hiking after putting boots on to keep from tripping. Very light and they allow for good mobility as far and bending and flexing. The belt they come with is enough to hold a large utility knife and not pull your pants down. My real waist measurement is 36" but the partial elastic in these means I only needed the 34".

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a pair of long pants made of thin, lightweight material, good for those days when it is in between shorts and heaver long pants weather. I might use the zip-off feature but probably not. One good aspect of the zip-off is that it blends nicely into the overall design. It is hardly noticeable. Some zip-off's are so bulky looking that they create an obvious break in the pant leg--which I don't like. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star value rating is I think $65 is a bit high, but since these are the only pants I can find with the features I want, I will definitely get another pair as the need arises.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not durable I bought these for a planned 10 day backpacking trip. 3 or 4 days in, the rear pocket stitching was worn through and I was finding my pocket contents on the ground. These may be fine when car camping and sitting on chairs or picnic benches, but if you are planning to sit on the ground or rocks, buy more durable pants.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from size fit I bought these this past week. Like the looks and feel but there is one problem that if I had known about would have ordered a different size, When they arrived a lable said below waist fit. If they would have put that in the notice I would have ordered a different length

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not great I bought these pants about a month ago, and then went on a 2 week hiking trip to Utah. The fabric is very light and dries quickly. however, the fabric also wrinkles easily and is a bit too baggy for my taste. My biggest complaint is that the belt buckle is difficult to release. Overall, after two weeks of heavy wear, the pants held up well but I would not buy another pair. The material is great for hot climates, but not for cool/cold weather.
