Ok For The Avg Hiker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Maybe good for older person or the person who hikes once a year looking for something. But if you’re going on a 10+ mi difficult incline hike, I’d look for something more rugged brand.

Most Comfortable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My third pair of newton ridge - I love them so much and use them every day.

Great Quality Hiking Boots

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very sturdy good quality boots. I’ve gotten many compliments the week since I’ve had them. Would highly recommend.

Great - Up To 10 Miles

I got these a year ago. Excellent for short - medium hikes. However I did 20 miles yesterday and they were terrible. Excruciating pain and multiple blisters. Durability is great but just couldn’t hold up when it came to harder trails.

Made Wrong

Watch when you buy these. I purchased them and one shoe is made crocked and hard to wear. It turns my foot inward.

Waterproofing Is Bad

Bought these over the summer and have been using them for farm work ( nothing too crazy) well winter rolled around and the waterproofing has completely given out. left me with wet feet in -10 degree weather...

Best Shoes Ever

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best shoes I own. Purchased Jan 2023 and they have lasted right about to the end of 2025. I hike a lot (60+ trails per year), and I have worn these shoes to hike up mountains, go through rivers, and trek through sand. Traction has worn off just a little, but that is to be expected. The waterproofing is still awesome and works well. Super comfortable and lots of good ankle support. Literally my favorite shoes ever, I am about to buy the same pair and hopefully wear them out for the next 3 years.

Not Durable

I bought these boots two years ago to work on a blueberry farm six weeks each year. I am so disappointed in the durability. The upper fabric has pulled away from the sole at the toe on both shoes and on the side of one shoe and so they are no longer water proof. You can see from the soles that I haven’t abused them! (Well, I tried to upload pictures but not having success)

Not Waterproof

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Don’t get these if you’re hoping for a waterproof hiking boot. I had Columbia hiking boots that were 15 years old and tattered and they maintained their waterproofing. These? I’ve had them just over a year, was out in the rain for the first time in them, and my feet are sloshing in the boots. The way they design the holes for the laces now also make it challenging to truly tighten the boot—there’s too much friction.

Great Shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought these a few months ago for extra ankle support after injuring the left ankle. They are very comfortable, light and supportive. I didn’t feel a lot of cushion in them but I was able to do 5-6 miles a day with relative ease on uneven, varied surface terrain (muddy, roots and rocks, stone, asphalt). I’ve tried other brands but these are going to be my go to.

Waterproofing Issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These were waterproof for about 2 years. Keep in mind they probably only say action for a max of 80 days/ year. I have tried waterproofing them again with both wax and spray. Nothing worked. I expected a longer lifespan than 2 years. Traction is pretty good.

Comfortable But Lacked Good Arch Support

Got these and thought they were cute and comfortable but needed a little more arch support than they offered.

So Great I Bought Another Pair

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My previous pair of Newton Ridge boots took me through the Black Forest and many points east and west. So comfortable and stylish (love the red laces) they became my go-to shoe even when I wasn't hiking. Eight years later the soles were the only worn out part. I was delighted to see the same pair still on the website. Even more jazzed when they arrived and I slipped into them. Same great fit!

Boots Living Up To Their Reputation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for some waterproof hiking boots that were well-rated by third party groups. These were at the top of several lists, so I decided to give them a try. They came in super fast, and I put them on for a quick trial. I didn't even take them off for the rest of the day! They fit right out of the box without any awkward breaking in. On my first lengthy outing, they were comfortable and felt like we had been hiking buddies for years. I haven't tried them out in super wet conditions, but a wet summer in my region will give me plenty of opportunity.
