I picked these shorts specifically out of the other lined short options because I thought the exterior side pockets would fit a whole phone. The phone fits, but the top 1/2 inch sticks out of the top of the pocket. Maybe could've fit the whole phone if these shorts were a 5 inch inseam and not a 3 inch. However, the 3 inch inseam is shockingly modest, feels like more coverage than not, probably due to the lining. Since they went and slapped the "PFG" label on them I would've liked to see a drawstring option on the waist to customize the fit since the lining is thin and loose. Might worry about a little sag-action if I do carry around a heavy phone. Otherwise, the exterior fabric is nice and soft. I'm 5'7", 125lb lean and got the Small.
