Very large and spacious. Larger than anticipated. Worked well for family of 4 who wanted lots of space.

I have tried several cabin tents. By far this is the best. I'm near 70 yo small woman and was able to set it up in the dark in about an hour, by myself. It is extremely spacious, even w a proper single bed and small kitchen, bookcases and workbench installed. I put an 8' 2x4 in the center w a dome shaped 2' round metal top; this added structural stability for snow load and wind. I set up this tent in November and insulated it with the silver bubble insulation across the roof and on all four walls. I added a large heavy duty tarp (19' x 30') over the top which is tied down--with a bit of encouragement snow slides off the tarp easily. A single light inside is enough. I have an electric space heater that keeps the tent plenty warm. There are pallets beneath with half-inch plywood creating a platform that the tent sits on. I added wool rugs (sourced from goodwill)to the floor to help insulate from the cold. This tent has been up all winter in Maine, and has withstood two extreme wind events with hurricane force wind gusts, and sustained winds of 45+ miles an hour for 24 hours. It shook and rattled, but It has no damage whatsoever! The center pole definitely helped with that-- I think the wind could otherwise have broken the frame just by the downward force of some of the gusts. This tent is the size of a small cabin and a person can live in it quite easily or use it as a cozy retreat/studio. The only thing I would say to the manufacturers is that the gray interior would be better in a lighter color like white, just to brighten it up a bit inside. In all, I would give it a 10 out of 10. Lastly, this is a very affordable shelter!

My wife and I bought this tent about four years ago and we LOVE IT! We've did plenty camping and plenty video posting on our media sites. People love our setup and now they wanna go camping with us. we're tempted to buy another one just to get the nun campers to go. We got another camping trip coming up next month, and we plan to be the best looking campsite out there, thanks and good CORE product.

Purchased mine 4 years ago and have used it primarily as a base camp for an annual 9 day trip to an airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Instead of 12, we have two campers but room for two more in the center section if any of our visitors needs to stay. It has withstood plenty of torrential rain and wind - some from tornado warned storms. Other tents around us have fallen but at most we have just had a few drops of wind blown water and outside chairs tossed around. Very spacious with two bedroom dividers leaving the center section as a computer table area with room for a couple of extra chairs if the outside awning doesn't protect us from rain. The camping site holds over 40,000 other campers during this incredible week and it is great to have such a nice base. Sure beats the high cost of hotels, Air B-N-B's or RV's and we are always getting great comments about our set-up. The CORE 12 person is the center of it all!

We're obsessed with this tent for camping with our family of four. We've camped in some SW Texas heat, cold, wind, and rain, and this tent is amazing at having enough space to make it easy to care for the kids and to have friends join us for camping or come over and hang out inside. We can set up with two queen mattresses and one twin mattress and still have room for tables and a bench inside the tent. I was so grateful the tent didn't have a single leak anywhere despite camping through a windy storm. Obviously it's going to get hot in the tent if you set it up in the full sun in the summer, whether the rainfly is on or off. Ideally you have a shady spot or are outside doing things during the sunny days in 90+ degree heat. I love that there are two different style doors. Depending on the temp and the weather, we might use a different door. The D-shaped door is probably easy for the kids. The doors do a great job of keeping the wind out, but the kids will rush and zip up the extra material in the zipper sometimes. I feel like the kids are the problem and not the door. ;-) We have also borrowed the green 12 Person Instant Tent to camp in. That instant up is amazing. However, the walls are so much more slanted than the straight wall cabin that it feels and functions much smaller. If we were just camping with a family of 4 all the time, it would be fine, but it's nice for the kids to bring friends and I love having more indoor space for storage and moving around. This tent packs down much smaller for storage than the instant tent, so that's something to consider. I have sewed some more paracord hanging loops for things inside the tent. I wish they could add more features like that during manufacturing, but that would make it more expensive. The two hanging pouches that come inside the tent are very handy.

It pains me to say, but I can’t find a flaw in this tent nor can I think of anywhere it can improve. It took our group of 3/4 people 10-15min to put up and take down & held up great in the rain. We had slight pooling between the tent & tarp after the rain and there were no leaks. If you’re debating getting this tent the answer is yes!

Quality material. I bought this to replace our 10 person cabin tent and it being straight wall makes all the difference in space. It seems huge with just that one differnce

These tents are great for the cost and have become our oasis over the past 5 yrs. We use or tents from mid-June through the end of October and they hold up well to the constant UV exposure, wind, and weather. The overhang is not interchangeable with both doors as it was in last years model, so you don't get a choice where the overhang goes. The single doo is also more user friendly. The rainfly does keep the weather out, but it would be helpful if the drip-edge extended beyond the tent footprint. This is tent number 4 and we have not had any bottom rips, no broken zippers, and the poles held up very well. I would recommend upgrading to some plastic stakes for additional security in soft soils.

Purchased and used in June last year. It was excellent!

The first time s we set it up one of the leg connectors snapped. Gorilla tape kept it up. 2nd time we used it, one of the screws on a top piece/roof piece came out and I used a random screw in our van to fix that but it will not stand up without a long dowel propped under it. the 4th time the other side collapsed in the night. We used to have the smaller version and NEVER had 1 problem over 8 yrs.

Great tent, spacious and I'd love to leave a better review but during the second time setting it up on of the orange pole cracked and broke. Extremely disappointed to see this happen with upcoming trips planned soon. I hope Core is willing to resolve this with a replacement part as soon as possible.

Bought this a few months back. We have two children and two dogs. I decided to go big, because when we go campgrounds, I like to have a little more space to move around (I have hiking backpacks for those adventures). This tent did not disappoint. We have it set up with two twins air mattresses on one side, one king on the other, and the dogs sleep in the middle. One mistake I made was assuming all Core 12 Person Footprints are the same. Make sure you get the Straight Wall Cabin Footprint or you'll be left with one that doesn’t quite fit (see picture). I just ordered the new Straight Wall Footprint and can’t wait to use it! Overall water resistance is good, we did get rained on one night with no leaks. Airflow is decent with all windows down. If you want to be a bit extra, we did use an EcoFlow Wave 2 portable air conditioner in the tent and it dd help lower the temp and create more airflow at night (TX gets a little warm). Unlike the other 12 Person Instant Tents, this Straight Wall Cabin can be used without staking it into the ground. I enjoy that feature as some places it’s hard to drive a stake in. The Instant cabin will collapse without it being staked in. The Tent Kit is also a great addition. Everything you need is there and convenient. I can set it up by myself, but is better with 2 people, especially with the rain fly.

I bought this tent and absolutely love it! It’s very specious and easy to set up. If you’re looking for a big tent that’s easy to set up and comfortable, this is the one! Highly recommended it!!

Love the size of the tent. Not to bad putting it up or taking it down. We got caught in a good thunderstorm, the water was piling on top of the rain cover. Once I hit the water off is when I started to get a small amount of rain water in the tent. Did not use the divider, as I didn’t need it.
