Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really impressed with the crosman fire np It's been sometime since I shot a pellet gun. Out of the box the rifle shot in a tight group. I'm not very smart, but once I figured out that the caps came off to adjust the scope it was zeroed in rather quickly. Oddly enough adjusting the caps did nothing:). The rifle is accurate and I'm pleased with its performance. I can hit a pop can about 250' out with a couple tries. I think if the scope was upgraded the range could probably be extend. My only gripe is that this rifle is hard to cock. I'm not a sissy either. Maybe it's not broken in yet? Overall I would make the same purchase again. I forgot how much fun target shooting was. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like it It is pretty powerfull , The Nitro piston is a quality air rifle , I also Bought the Big Bear for 59$ on sale , This one is better. Is worth more at 79$ , and It shoots a pellet trough a rice cooker pan , also barely broke through 3/8 Ply wood , Out of 3 shots at 50 ft .1 Broke through the plywood , Penetrated A book about 3/8 or 1/2 inch at 50 ft .the Big bear was a little less powerful ,But I would recommend both , Just this Crosman is better , is more stable to shoot and a little more powerful , Both are fun ,I do it just to teach the kids how to handle a rifle and shoot properly , So it is a great Gift or toy , But is powerful enough that it needs responsible handling ,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hard-hitting and Tight Groups I bought the Fire over a year ago and it seems to be getting better with time. The optimum distance for me is between 17-30 yards, but going farther is not impossible if you shoot pellets that will stay accurate at longer distances. At the range, I will go out to 60-75 yards, but compensate for trajectory. Best pellets for accuracy will be in the 8-10 grain range due to the power of gas piston. Quiet enough for backyard plinking. Scope is fine to 30-ish yards, and doable further out in very well-lit areas. Plenty inexpensive scopes to replace it with. Rifle is definitely worth buying, just need to master holding it correctly. I use a small bean-bag forend rest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value For the price I was able to acquire this gun, it has to be the best value for the buck. After adjusting the scope, this gun is extremely accurate. I was amazed at the accuracy in this price range. I was prepared to spend around $750 for a German made gun to ensure quality and accuracy, but got accuracy and power at a savings of over $600. I really liked the feel and weight of the solid steel barrel. I used Crossman pellets with a slight point for varmits even though I was using targets for scope adjustments. I have a Crossman .177 pellet pistol my father-in-law gave me, but this is the first pellet gun I have purchased. I couldn't be more satisfied at this price range.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Gun. Lousy Accessories RIFLE- nice rifle but has an extremely long trigger pull. I'm not sure if this is typical for pellet guns, as this is my first one. SCOPE- very mediocre. Without a zoom, accuracy on small game past 25 yards or so is quite difficult. SCOPE MOUNT RINGS- TERRIBLE!!! You will need new scope rings. These would not hold the scope in place, and the scope kept sliding around in the mounts even with them closed all the way. It took several times re-sighting in the gun before I realized this was what was happening. The metal also bent very easily, which caused the rings to be out of alignment from one another. After an upgraded scope and rings, it is a much better gun. If you are considering this gun because of the included scope, think about something else.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Pleased Took back game whisper and traded it for the crossman Fire. Not impressed with gamo, not only was crossman quieter it is definitely more accurate. Had scope sighted in in about 3 shots. On a rest most bullets touched at 15 yds using dome pellets. Then my son started shooting eggs at 40 yds on rest. Best air rifle ever owned.would have given 5 stars if trigger a little softer

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well built powerful rifle. Bought this rifle several months ago and it is a sturdy well built air rifle. The scope and rings are not the best quality however. The rifle takes some effort to cock at first but gets easier as you shoot it a little bit. Unfortunately the scope and mounts kept working loose after shooting and needed to be re-tightened several times. I couldn't get the scope to zero properly, it shot low no matter how much I'd adjust the crosshairs. The sticky pads in the mounts kept working out as well. Eventually I added a shim to the lower rear mount and this helped zero the scope normally so there is some apparent barrel droop with my rifle. So far I've used Crosman pellet (Destroyer, Premium Pointed and heavier Beeman Pointed). So far the Destroyers work the best out of the 3 types I've used.
