Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solves Midwestern Winter Woes I bought this trainer back in 2012 and it is still going strong! It is easy to set up and folds away quickly when I want to put it away to save space. I recommend buying a trainer tire because it makes the unit quieter. Without the trainer tire, it is relatively quiet -- even on a reverberating surface like a wood floor. Over the harsh Wisconsin winters, I use training videos to keep my fitness up. I also enjoy watching films with friends while using my Magneto. Portability and ease of use are why I have held onto the trainer for so long. Someday I may upgrade, but I like the simplicity of the Magneto and the price point is hard to beat.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent While it Lasted I had a CyleOps Magneto trainer for about 6 weeks. As time went on it got noisier and noisier. Finally I took it back to the local bike shop where I bought it and upgraded to the Fluid2 with a full credit for the Magneto. The bike shop agreed that something was rattling around badly inside and the noise level was way too high. While I was using the Magneto (and while it was still quiet), I liked the ride, very road like, and the gears adjusted the resistance very well. I originally got the trainer shortly after having knee surgery and needed a way to exercise without putting stress on my knee. The Magneto filled the bill.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product and workout so far A "requested" gift so I could get more excercise in my limited time. I used to be an avid cyclist but haven't really ridden much for 10 years. This trainer was very simple to set up, I can move it around with ease, fit my 25 year old road bike with no problems and seems to work very well, including providing progressive resistance when called for. My only dig would be to include a more recreational training/workout video as well or instead of the racing oriented video. So far I can barely get through the warmup portion of the racing video and am already looking for more recreational videos to ride with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to use trainer The unit is very easy to set up. The assembly instructions could use some improvement however, those are really used once and the retailer should be able to provide the help needed. Putting the bike on the trainer is quick and easy due to the quick lock handle. Fit and finish was very good on the metal components but, the sticker decal on my trainer is starting to lift off. That may concern some and others won't care. It does not affect the performance of the unit. Overall, a very good bike trainer that is easy to set up and easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't beat it for the price I've owned this for several years now and it's still going strong. For the price, you get a smooth, quiet, stable and long wearing trainer that isn't so heavy that you'll never take it to a friends garage for a group workout. Even the CycleOps support is awesome - over one summer some parts disappeared and it was easy to find replacements. For the price - you just can't beat it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magneto Trainer works for me I use the Magneto to do routine exercise indoors, while reading. I set up a music stand to hold reading material, and make productive use of time that would have been spent just reading like a blob at my desk to also get in an adequate cardio workout. I've been off the bike for a few years, and I am stunned how just a few weeks back in the saddle have improved how well I feel. Time required for work related reading is no longer an obstacle to fitness, because I can handle both simultaneously using the Magneto with my dusted-off bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality product and great customer service I originally ordered the Mag Trainer and there was defect in the resistance weight. The customer service made up for this 110% and sent me the resistance weight that upgraded my trainer to the Magneto. I've used this several times now and love it. It's very sturdy and a high quality piece of equipment. I break a decent sweat with a 45 minute ride. I needed something to help lower my cholesterol and stay in shape during the winter months. It's well worth the investment because I know I will get a solid workout for years to come.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The old versus the new I just got this new model about a month ago. I had the previous model for about 5 years, and I put about 5,000 miles on it. I decided to get a new one because my old one had a slight wobble to the non-drive side. The new one is much quieter, but it doesn't seem a stable. Either way I will be putting about the same amount of miles on it.
