Great Drag & High Quality Bearings

Was my 2nd option due to the great price and the Penn that was on sale was sold out. Went smaller than what I wanted as well with the 2500 instead of the 3000 yet I'm glad I did. Not as beefy and tightly built as the Penn Battle IV and not sealed as well as the Penn but still a workhorse reel. I've landed a few 5 to 7lb bass with ease. It's a bit heavy for a 2500 and sized more like a 3000 so it will handle much bigger fish. I was expecting a smoother feeling but for the price, it's a deal. This will be going in the kayak for inshore, skinny water fishing in the fall for sure

Second Choice, But O.k.

Bought because original Penn outfit that I ordered for much less money was cancelled by you. I have returned to Dick's after a long absence due to your decision to leave the " Shooting Sports'". Cancelling this order after you took it did not make me happy, I had to spend another 30-40 dollars to duplicate it with the above product. Not good.

Excellent Rod For Striper Fishing

Bought this combo for this year's striper season and couldn't be happier. Used 30lb braid, and cast lures all morning and was surprised how smooth the reel was compared to my Penn's. I also caught a 31" 10lb striper and the fight was epic but never had any concern bringing it in. Highly recommend this rod, actually bought another for a friend.

Great, Solid Lightweight Setup.

Only rated this 4 stars because the rod is a bit lightweight for what the reel can handle. The reel is an absolute beast! I plan on switching out to a rod with a bit more backbone for the reel and using the rod with a lighter weight reel.

Reel itself was 119.99,Combo was 139.99! So I paid an extra 20 bucks and just purchased the combo! 3000 reel with 7ft medium rod! Don’t know how the rod will hold up but the reel is the absolute best I’ve ever owned!!! Super light,quiet drag,super smooth,great handle!!! Couldn’t find anything wrong with this reel!! I highly recommend it!! Spooled with 15 pound power and it will cast a mile! Lol......
