My first time wearing them was during a weekend trip to the mountains - had them on my feet all day, wore them around town, and then went on a 3 mile hike through dirt, mud, and some shallow stream. They were extremely comfortable and didn’t need any break in, plus they kept my feet dry. All the mud washed off very easily with a light brush and some warm water the next day. Since the Trail fit me well I tried the Panorama and am happy so far - I did 18k steps in one day without any break-in and had no issues. I find these very comfortable, fairly light, and excellent fit for those with wide feet. I have been happy with durability of the Trail so I'm assuming that will be the case with these as well. About the only quirk is the tongue and lacing - it did take me some trial and error to get the right placement of tongue under the laces. Other reviewers have mentioned it so it's real, but in my opinion it just takes a little tweaking to find the right lace tension & tongue placement.

I tried bending them open a little bit, but they are made out of some pot metal or something that doesn't bend so pretty good. I broke two of them.
