I am so impressed with the quality and comfort of the Danner Quarry boots that they are all I will ever wear from now on. This was my seventh pair. The only boot that I have ever worn that requires no break in period. Great comfort right out of the box. They are very durable and I work in oil, mud, and very wet conditions. Buy them, you wont regret it!

They are good boots and fit true to size. They do require some “break in” which are not typical of Danner boots. Otherwise, they are good!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased these boots as a replacement for my decade-plus-old work boots which finally bit the dust when their sole began separating and coming unglued (used while working as a ranch hand and more recently primarily for snow shoveling). The Goodyear welt style construction ("recraftable" as Danner calls it) was a major part of the appeal to me for these Danner boots and that they come with a Vibram sole. The craftsmanship seems solid (stitching, lace hooks, sole thickness) and I was easily able to swap in my favorite insoles for the thin, plain, ones they came with. I have a slightly wide foot and the fit was a little roomy before I swapped my insole, fit feels just right with some of the volume taken up by my insoles. In the past, I'd always treated my leather boots with waterproofing but opted not to with these since they have the built-in GORE-TEX liner. So far they seem to keep moisture out well (but I haven't taken them through any puddles, streams, or rain, just snow). The tongue is a bit cumbersome when lacing them up but that's the tradeoff which comes with it being attached well above ankle height to keep moisture etc. out AND leaving plenty of room for easy on/off. So, it's worth it. The one big question mark for me is the leather's durability. When researching this boot I did see a number of reviews complaining of weak leather/premature wear of the toe. It's tough for me to say for sure but it does seem like to leather is softer than I'd like (might be fine and I'm just biased due to the reviews I read). No unnecessary wearing of the leather for me yet though. So, time will tell on the leather's quality/durability. Overall, I'm happy with these boots and they seem like a worthwhile purchase. Fingers crossed the toe leather doesn't end up being a weak point and I'm able to get many years and at least a couple resoles out of them!
