Defective After One Use With No Viable Return Process
Purchased this life jacket in March and it was worn one time before threads began coming loose and a hole formed. This is a Dick’s private-label product, so this appears to be a manufacturing defect. I attempted to return it online, but the FedEx return label would not work. Live chat instructed me to go to the store. I drove nearly an hour, where the front-end lead inspected the jacket and confirmed it was defective, but said she did not have authority to accept the return and told me to contact customer support for a refund. Customer support then told me to contact the manufacturer — despite this being a Dick’s private-label item. At this point, I still have a defective, safety-related product and no viable return or refund path, despite multiple attempts through the proper channels. Very disappointing experience for a brand I’ve shopped with for years.
