Captain A Fire

I bought this about a month ago. Tested it and it worked fine. Have not used it on an actual fishing trip yet.

Bad Experience

I ordered it twice and twice came not a complete set and with defects. I don't recommend ordering it here.

Great Sonar But...

I bought this a couple of years ago, and bought an iPad to run it on for ice fishing. It was awesome to have the full screen, and see the detail. It was very responsive and worked great. The next year I went to use it, and it was so laggy, it was unusable. It would lag 30 - 60 seconds after about a minute of using it. Got in contact with support, and they determined after 4 months that the newer version of the app no longer supported my iPad. So now the only resolution was to buy a newer iPad. I asked for the previous version of the app that worked, and they wouldn't give it to me. So now I am stuck with a sonar that I am no longer able to use until I shell out another $300 for a newer iPad. Buyer beware that your device may become obsolete with this, and then it will become useless.

Decent Fish Finder, But Lacking Maps

I bought it to use on my inflatable as the conventional fish finders are difficult to mount on it. It’s simple to use, does detect fish, and can be tied easily to the side of my inflatable. The downside is the lack of depth mapping for a good amount of lakes near me, which required me having to buy another app to use separately for that. Even after I use it to scan various parts of these lakes, it still doesn’t save the depths on the map. It’s also much too heavy to cast with my medium light rods and would require me to purchase an unnecessary heavy rod just to cast this time if I was to use it from the shoreline. The deciding factor for me to return this device is the fact that I’ve had multiple incidents where it just wouldn’t connect to my phone.
