If you are looking for a mountain bike, are on a budget, don't want to buy used, and want something better than the local supercenter offers - this is the bike for you. I spent a whole lot of time reading reviews, watching YouTube videos, and looking in stores for the best bike in the $200-300 range. I found this Sorrento to be the best value at it's price point. This bike has all the basics - Shimano drivetrain, thumb shifters, double-wall wheels, front suspension, and linear brakes. I've had this for three months and ride it about 6 miles a day, five days a week, both on and off road. It has performed very well. The shifters are smooth, the brakes are strong, and nothing has come loose or broken. I'm 6'2", 175lbs, and went with the large frame. The XL frame was too tall (couldn't stand over the top bar), but the large frame is a great fit. While this bike doesn't have disc brakes or a front suspension fork lockout, you won't miss them. The fork does not bounce when riding on the road (I was worried about this after previous bikes forks performed poorly) - and the traditional linear brakes provide plenty of stopping power. Only adjustments needed have been to tighten a few spokes, and lube the chain. You should beware of bikes at this price point that offer discs, lockout fork, and other features found on more expensive models - as most likely they are cutting corners on other areas to meet the target price. This Sorrento will provide you with a solid frame, and industry standard components that can easily be upgraded in the future. I am pleased with this purchase and would recommend this bike to anyone who is curious about biking and wants something reliable without spending a fortune.

Very Nice Beginner Mountain Bike For The Price.
I wanted a good, inexpensive mountain bike with front suspension and an aluminum frame, and this was it. Assembly was straightforward (for me, anyway; I have a degree in mechanical engineering technology, so your results may vary). Just follow the instructions and you'll end up with good results. All required tools are included, except an air compressor or pump to inflate the tires. The frame is light (compared to what I'm used to), the finish is nice, it comes with lugs in the frame to attach a bottle holder, and the components seem like they'll last a while if properly taken care of. My one complaint is that the bike does not include a kickstand, or any easy place to mount one.
