(This is a compensated review. I received a free product to test and review.) The Dick's Sporting Goods (DSG) Victory 48 quart cooler is a well-built, rotomolded, insulated workhorse. The rope handles allow you more flexibility when handling this cooler by yourself but I recommend a buddy when it's loaded. The handles have nice rubber grips which keep the rope from digging into your hands. The lid is held on with steel pins so there are no plastic stubs popping out and causing a deconstruction of your cooler. There is even a steel bottle opener built into the lock area (yes, you can lock up your drinks from the kids and other unwelcome associates) The thick rubber seal does its job and seals the cooler tightly. The latches close snuggly but remain easy to operate with one hand. I was able to fit 36 - 20oz water bottles and 21 pounds of ice inside with no issues. Just for testing, I also included a temperature monitoring probe inside. We utilized the cooler for three days and the cooler maintained an average of 35 degrees F inside providing nice cold water for the entire crew. The unit I received sports the new "Fusion" grey color. This unique blending of white to dark grey lends a unique pattern which will easily make your cooler stand out from the rest. Overall, I highly recommend this cooler as it is well constructed at a reasonable price point and will definitely last through many years of adventures.

Upon delivery of the Victory 48 cooler I was immediately shocked at how light the box was when picking it up off the porch. With that being said it is a nice half way size/ form factor from your typical 35qt and 65qt coolers, not so big it takes two people to carry but large enough to have multiple cases of drinks or enough food and ice to last for an extended weekend camping trip. Upon arrival and a brief rinse down, I put two 40lb bags of ice along with 12 room temp soda cans and 12 16oz beer cans, and it carried ice all the way into day 8 with several openings per day for the initial day. I was given the opportunity to test this cooler courtesy of DSG at no cost.

DSG’s Victory Cooler stacks up to the competition. The 48 qt size offers a good balance of size while still being able to handle it when fully loaded. With recreation sports in full swing, this is a great option for bringing drinks and treats for the team. The rope handles have rubber grips and are comfortable to carry the cooler whether by yourself or with the help from someone else. Ice retention for this type of use was better than expected with it sitting out in full sun. Typical with these activities and the number of drinks, pre-chilling everything isn’t always possible and the ice melt experienced wasn’t too bad. In anticipation of a longer duration trip or activity where ice retention is more important, I’d expect it to last as advertised with everything pre-chilled. Amazing Cooler

I was given the opportunity to test out the DSG new cooler as a paid endorser and received the cooler free of charge. It is a 48 quart cooler that will hold 50 lbs of ice and 50 cans. The description says it holds ice for seven days. I put 30 lbs of ice inside and 12 drinks. The cooler held ice with a little melting. After seven days the drinks were still ice cold. Great Cooler!

I love this cooler! Holds ice and keeps food cold for a long time. It has thick walls and it should be very durable. The 48 quart is a perfect size, it holds enough for a weekend trip, but it’s not so large that you need two people and a pickup truck to haul it. I’m very impressed with the design and construction. The latches are very secure and much easier to use than the stretchy rubber ones on the name brand coolers. The padded rope handles are very comfortable and much sturdier than the plastic ones used on other brands. We just returned from a weekend trip to the mountains and the cooler performed flawlessly. It kept the food and drinks nice and cold with plenty of ice left when we got back home.

My New Summer Obsession!!

This cooler is perfect for my family! I was able to put cold groceries in it while I made a few other stops on the way home, and with a few ice packs, everything stayed cold and my frozen foods stayed frozen. I also packed it for an afternoon at the ballfield. Kept my sports drinks, waters and popsicles cold. The ice really wasn't melting, either. Stayed really cold. Love the sealing lid with locks, and I really like how the middle of the lid raises up to keep my top layer of items from getting squished. Works perfectly if you want to take fruit on-the-go. Cooler's rectangular shape helps maximize space, and it fits easily in the back of the SUV with plenty of room to spare. Great quality cooler that will hit the roads with us this summer! We haven’t used this for a long period to determine how long it keeps ice yet. That being said overall early impressions are all good. This is a well built rotomold cooler, good latches and handles. I would buy another if I needed one.

Seems Tough, But Production Needs A Little More Attention Though

Seems pretty tough, but I've only had it for a few days. Disappointed in the pricing, it was hard to tell how much it was, there was a 50% off sign but apparently it was for the second one. Not sure how many people are going to buy two of these, so I feel the pricing, while not deceptive, was less than clear. Also, for a $150 cooler, there shouldn't be plastic shavings that look like they're left over from a drill bit in a container that's designed to hold food. Next time I think I will buy a more established brand
