Rated 3 out of 5 by from surprising success in a non-water situation Updating my previous review: Today I managed to lose a disc in a storm drain! I used the retriever to get that disc out of the storm drain. Took about 20 minutes but got that disc back! No water in the drain, so the disc settled in one spot in a pile of leaves, and I could get some traction. Lucky but wouldn't have been able to pull this off without the retriever.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Will not always save the day If the disc is floating, this device should help. Or if the water bed is hard. If the bed of the creek etc is soft, you may not be able to get the disc in the jaws. So, make sure to also carry a long stick. I'm recovering from foot surgery so always have a cane. When fully healed, will carry a walking stick. If hiking a wooded course, perhaps you need such anyway.
