Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product is light and sturdy for the everyday fisherman Lightweight and tough. This product will be out of sight and out of mind until needed. I strapped this net on the back of my vest and forgot it was there until I reeled in my catch. The super tough elastic string allowed me stretch the net further into the water to aid in the perfect net of my fish. The super durable netting seemed to help ease the fish while inside and allowed perfect access to the fish for removal. While relying on the sturdy bamboo to hold the fish, I was at ease and confident that the net would perform.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Eagle Claw Bamboo Trout Net by Eagle Cla Good net for stream fishing and smaller fish like trout. Note, however, that the handle is short and opening is not that large therefore it is not designed for fishing from a boat. Net seems to be well built but the wood's finish is not that durable when scooping-up fish and banging it against the streambed rocks. Best feature is the net material itself, designed to preserve the slime layer to more safely catch and release without permanent damage to the fish.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cheap but reasonable Had bought another clear mesh net but the netting was spaced too far apart for some of the small trout I was catching and they slipped right through it so I looked for one like this with a fine mesh. You won't mistake this for a nice Orvis net but it is reasonably well made. The wood handle was a little rough and uneven so I'm going to sand it until it is smooth and then put a few coats of urethane on it and that will make it much better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Trout net for guides As an outfitter and guide cost of gear for clients adds up quickly. This net offers me the cost advantage and quality to gear up my clients for a day on the river. While I net most of the fish my clients catch, I can't always be there for each client when there are more than one of them so each is provided with a net and best of all, if they were to break this net, I can afford to buy a new one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eagle Claw Bamboo Trout Net A cost effective purchase of a great trout net. I liked the fact the net has an elastic cord attached to the handle, making it easy to connect to my vest (center back) and conveniently/immediately available when it was needed. Had no trouble retrieving the net when catching trout on opening day!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok for a beginner net. This net works perfectly fine, it's really lightweight. The main problem for me is that even with my barbs turned down all my hooks get caught in this net after landing a fish. It's worth it since it's so cheap but also a hassle because I have to work my lure out of the net. Just my two cents.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good net for the price, but... Bought two of these for a trip to the Rockies fishing with my son. We've netted quite a few sizable trout with no issues. Except the lanyard - pure junk. Mine broke the first day when the metal clamp came apart. Take it off and make your own and you'll be happy for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice cheap little net I actually don't use this for trout. I clip mine on my backpack while I'm out fishing in my kayak and it works great. The next material seems to be pretty strong and the wood frame is very strong and we'll designed. I will be buying one for my daughter when she comes with me
