3rd Set. New Color? Might As Well Have Been Custom
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my kid's 3rd set. She hates white, and finds the USA tacky. So, we've done two sets of black. She HATES change, so I almost bought the black again. Decided on the Charcoal. She was SO excited! It really is a slick color. And I don't know that we've seen another kid wear it. Totally glad I went with a different color. As for the gear, the quality has always been good. Many competitors' chest protectors are bulky! This looks fitted! No complaints on helmet or shin guards. Expensive?? Sure. But some competitors cost more for their "very best." Highly recommend.

Awesome Gear
Bought two years ago and very happy with the gear. Daughter was too big for the small and the medium chest protector and shin guards were perfect. The helmet was a large and was a little big but adjusted well, plus she hit that growth spurt at 12 1/2 which took up the slack. Jen Schro gear it tops in quality and protection. My wife said, make sure my daughter is protected so we did our research and asked around with coaches and catchers from the tourneys. We visited. Many rave about Jens gear. My daughter has taken several foul balls to the face and a bat tip to the side of the helmet, and it didn’t phase her. We pulled her and checked for confusion and nothing. The shin guards have extra padding for the knees and the chest protector seems to deaden the balls. Highly recommend.

It Doesn't Get Any Better
Bought the set for her for Christmas and now her season is down the thing has taken a beating from her dropping to her knees sliding left to right hit in the face and she's fully protected and comfortable I should've went with a bigger size just to her leg protectors wrapped more then just her knees but that my fault I won't put her in any other gear

Excitement Ended Quickly
I purchased the Jen Schro Very Best catchers set for my 14 year old daughter, as a Christmas gift. She was thrilled to get such great gear. Yesterday, January 9 was her first opportunity to wear the gear at indoor practice with her team. Unfortunately a short time into practice, she felt her shin guard get loose and come off her leg. She went to reattach it and the buckle was on the ground and the strap was frayed. She was quite disappointed that her "new gear was broken, already." I have attached pictures of the shin guard, the strap and the buckle. Looks like the strap needs replacement or repair. The disappointing factor being that for gear that is considered and labelled to be "the Very Best", it did not hold up a mere 30 minutes into the first usage, especially at the price that was paid for the gear.
