Great Idea, Poor Execution

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I actually dreamt of a hammock like this after a long x-country road ttip where I spent several nights of uncomfortable sleep in my regular ENOS hammock. I decided to research if a better hammock solution existed and foind this. Decided to give it a try and have been really disappointed. I'm 6ft, 190lbs, broad shoulders, very fit/athletic, and have yet to be as comfortable in this as a regular hammock. The only way I can get relatively flat is to keep my arms overhead like the guy in the picture on the tag. My back has been jacked every time I've tried sleeping in it (with & w/out a pad under me- inflated & un-inflated). My best experience using it has been as a casual reading/lounge spot away from bugs. Similar to chilling on an uncomfortable couch for a lil bit, sometimes it's better than no couch? The mosquitoe net is a nice idea, but it only opens on one side in a J- fashion so it's a bit awkward to get into and limits entry options. Good for the tropics and anywhere with a lot of flying & biting insects Other than the lack of being flat, it's pretty narrow so my shoulders are rolled inward uncomfortably. For someone smaller, it may not be an issue but this is not much better than a regular hammock and the netting makes it weird to get into and out of! Additionally - it's approx 2x the packed size of my ENOS double. The build quality is decent, and the netting does work once inside and zipped up The only reason I haven't returned it is because I REALLY want it to work. I'm hopelessly optimistic to find a way to get comfortable as it's a good idea - just poor execution...

Rockin' Flat Hammock.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 6'3" 225 former wildland ff here. I fit but it's not near as rooomy as my DoubleNest. But it sleeps WAY better. Like any new tent or hammock, it takes a few attempts to really dial how much tension you need but once you dial that setup it's golden. The fancy attachments are sharp looking but not nearly as versatile as tried and true but slightly heavier carabiners. I added a pair of Black Diamond mini 'biners and they work perfect. (Maybe they should be included... @ENO...) The only real weird things about it are the poles are kind of strange design that add the majority of the bulk. But they work super well. And again as the other reviewers have been saying, if you get the tension is wrong the zipper functions poorly. All in all, this is a bug-free system that really works for flat hammock sleeping when all ounces are being counted.

Easy To Set Up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The layflat style and built in mosquito netting makes the SkyLite hammock a no brainer, I take it everywhere. With the Helios suspension straps I decided to add on, I cant believe how compact and lightweight the whole system is.
