Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super warm I purchased the 949l about a month ago and have used it 3 times. It is definitely warm only 9 degrees out and we had to take our coats off! The setup is a little awkward as the top is hard to pop out. You have to step on the fabric (not a good idea with ice cleats on) in order to pop it out. I pop all 4 sides then go inside and push the top out. You have to have the anchors if any wind is blowing or the sides will collapse. I added two more straps so I wouldn’t have to step on the fabric I just grab the straps. I have no idea why Eskimo doesn’t throw in the drill attachment for the anchors it’s only $15 bucks and you will need it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tent for a great price. I bought this tent as a first timer getting into ice fishing I’ve been out with buddy’s of mine so I knew what I was looking for. It’s very spacious most definitely holds in heat I have a small mr buddy heater but at some point I’m going to upgrade to a bigger one to make it toasty in there it’s very easy to set up with one person but sometimes when taking it down it takes 2 people to pack it away. I wish it came with 2 more ice anchor walls also to do bringing it out on a windy day I had to kitty corn the ice anchors definitely would’ve been way better to have all 4 sides ice anchored walls. Keep in mind because of how big it is have a place to dry it for next times use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Montana winter-ready Great portable shanty. My biggest worry about getting a larger shanty like this was how it would hold up to the Central Montana wind. I've been happily using it all winter and had two instances where the shanty was seriously tested. We overnighted in it with sustained 20 mph wind with gusts to 40. While we didn't get much sleep that night, we stayed warm and did not get blown away or break a pole. A week later we encountered a blizzard on a different lake whith gusts around 45 mph and again, the shanty held up great. The heavy duty straps and solid construction make this a great shanty for avid ice anglers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Product I researched numerous ice shelters and decided on this one. Simply because I like where the windows were placed and the quality of denier. I've used this twice in 18-20°F temps. One day was sunny and I was amazed how the shelter warmed just from the sun. You could feel a very obvious temp difference. This is high quality, durable and we'll insulated. Light enough to transport on a sled but large enough for two or three people plus gear inside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful purchase I am very happy with this ice shack. Plenty of room for two people and gear. Was able to cook lunch on stove and fish three holes easily. Setup is easy! Bank the skirt with a little snow and you stay nice and warm with a small heater. My only complaint is getting shack into carrying bag. Difficult by yourself. What that bag needs is a zipper running lengthwise right down the center to better open it up. I didn't have the patience at 20 below to put it in the bag. Waited until I was home to pack it the right way. Set shack up 10 times already without a glitch. Awesome shack!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Storage Bag is Not Rugged Enough Bought the 949i as a Christmas present for my son and I and have only used it 5-6 times through the month of January. We love the tent!! Lots of room and holds the heat even in sub-zero temps. However, the storage bag is not rugged enough for the weight of the tent. The stitching on our bag has all come unraveled and the straps are pretty mush useless at this point. Also, the stitching around the bottom of the bag itself has now starting to come undone rendering the bag pretty much useless at this point. We pull the tent/bag out on the lake in a sled so the only real use the straps get is taking it out of the sled and to carry the tent in and out of the house. As I said ...love the tent, but looking for a different storage bag to carry it in....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good size. New this winter, first voyage one of the bottom corners stitching ripped , I fixed it myself with better stitching than new, shouldn’t have to do that considering what I paid for it and it being brand new out of the box. Used it a few more times till recent, all is well so far. Insulated is great, spacious, easy to set up and repack. Velcro on windows could be better so don’t have to stretch, accounting for plastic shrinkage over time. Velcro is actually hard to line up to put window back in place. Otherwise so far so good.
