Rated 4 out of 5 by from Appears to be of good quality. I've only used this auger a couple of times, but so far, I like it. Drills fast and seems to have plenty of power. The only negatives I've noticed are relatively minor; the clasp that flips over to hold the propane cylinder is pretty flimsy, it will bend if you aren't careful. The oil cap is hard to get started when turning it in,after checking oil , care required so you don't ruin the threads. I read several reviews before making a purchase, and a number of them raved about it starting on the first pull. Mine doesn't, sometimes requires two or three, but I can live with that. Bottom line, I like it and would recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome auger I have owned many augers and power augers over the years and this is the best. Starts in 1-pull even when left in subzero temps, and cuts ice super fast. No more gas smell, mixing oil, ethanol concerns, clogged carbs, or worrying if the auger will start when you get out on the ice. Seems well built for years of trouble and maintenance-free operation!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great auger. Used only one season so far, but works great. Powerful, easy start, drills fast. Two things could use improvement. The latch that holds the propane bottle pops open almost every time I drill a hole, or even bump it for that matter. Needs to be a more secure setup. The propane valve bit me a few times when I didn't have gloves on. It has pinch points and if you're not careful it will pinch your fingers when turning the fuel on or off. OUCH! The fuel valve is the only way to stop the motor, so its used often. It's very painful when that happens. Other than those two things, I would definitely recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Auger great - but my service was better! Ordered by phone and the lady was fantastic. A mistake was made and the next agent was also amazing. The auger cut though 6 inches yesterday no trouble at all. Read the instructions in the dark to get it started in the parking lot of the boat launch - so dang easy...should have bought one sooner. Light exhaust smell - but way better than my stinky two-stroke that jarred my bones as it cut. I could barely feel this thing slicing through the ice. Pretty quiet too. Well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to use and powerful This is my first mechanized auger - I did not want to deal with mixed gas or a battery. I have used the auger at least of dozen different days of fishing; drilling multiple holes each day. The propane auger consistently powered through 20 plus inches of hard ice - we have had a very cold winter. I also want to add the ease of starting the unit - I have found that you can pull the starter cord at a consistent easy pull and because of the propane pressurized line the unit fires simply - even when the temperature is below ZERO. One suggestion - be sure to let the unit warm up for 30 seconds or so before drilling the first hole - this is recommended in the owners manual as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Eskimo ice augers Great product. Have a different make propane auger that turns counterclockwise. Works great but the water gets thrown at the operator. On the Eskimo that turns clockwise, the water is thrown away from operator. Also I have different size augers that I kept from previous augers. Because my last propane auger turned backwards, I could not use my old augers on it. But I can with this new one that turns clockwise. But the best feature is no mixing of gas, and no choke to deal with. The propane ones start very easy, usually on first or second pull. And when the bottle is done, you just replace it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use, lots of power, started every time. I received the Auger for Christmas from my kids, went up to Wisconsin on two trips this winter and the auger worked great every time, First trip up it was below -0 ,second trip was still in the single digests, left the auger sit out side on purpose just to see how well it would start in the cold conditions, started every time. The other guys in the group were using gasoline, and electric augers, mine out drilled all of them. drilled holes inside of enclosed trailer, no odder, or gas fums at all. Drilled 40 to 50 holes 18" to 26" of ice still on first bottle of propane. Keith
