Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Family Tent! We used this tent on a week long road trip and we love it! The Jade Canyon 6 was easy to set up and tear down. We had plenty of room to relax in the tent and space to have our dogs too! Great family tent and the Elluminate system really did help light the tent up in the evening.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great ventilation! Very easy to set up although the directions seem to be written for other tents as well as this one. Six people, really? Very comfortable for the two of us with air mattresses. We didn’t really test for keeping dry as we put a tarp over the tent to keep dry entering and exiting. Really needs a fly over the entry way!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tent for comfort camping for just two For our latest tent upgrade, we wanted a tent with the following qualities ("*" for qualities this tent fulfilled, "-" where it fell short): * Self-standing * Metal poles (fiberglass poles are heavy and tend to break over time) - Clips to the poles instead of sleeves, for easier setup * 10' x 10' floor (to fit two cots side-by-side with room to spare) * Meshed roof for ventilation (or seeing the sky on clear nights without the fly) * Windows that let us see out * Windows that we can open & close from inside + optional bonus features if possible: * more or less vertical walls (again, more space for cots) - vestibule area or awning over the entrance - entrances both front & rear - hinged swing-open door The Eureka Jade Canyon 6 consistently stood out as the one tent that came closest to fulfilling this. It clearly fulfilled the most important points. Although you still have to feed the two top poles through sleeves instead of using clips, in this case the poles slip through the sleeves so easily that it does not make a difference. No vestibule or awning, but that is not so important with a spacious tent, and we can live without an extra entrance. We gave up on the hinged door -- we saw that only on a few competing tents that fall short in several other respects, and when we actually tried out the hinged door on a friend's tent it did not impress us so much. We got this as an upgrade to our Eureka Sunrise 9, which in turn was an upgrade to our Eureka Aurora. We liked the Sunrise 9 a lot (it even survived a night of steady 30-40 mile winds, with some additional guyline support), but it got a little cramped for two when we moved up to using cots instead of sleeping pads on the floor. And eventually, a fiberglass pole on each of those tents broke (which I later repaired). The Jade Canyon 6 feels tremendously spacious for the two of us. We fit two cots in side-by-side and have plenty of room to spare to get around the cots and do whatever. I have also never had a tent go up so easily -- first time we had it up in minutes, and one person could do this on their own! The windows offer great views and ventilation. We took the Jade Canyon on a two-week trip from Michigan to the Adirondack Mountains in New York this past summer, and the tent served us very well throughout. This tent comes with a few extra amenities, but we had no use for those ourselves. We did not have any electrified sites so did not try the E-Port, but it looks like it would do fine to get power into the tent. Our tent lanterns already shine the light downward, so the E-Luminate panels did nothing useful and instead just blocked the ventilation, we will probably set those aside from now on. We also had no use for the media pocket, but we did use the handy hang-up pockets. Overall, a great tent for comfort camping for just two; if you need room for several kids, though, you might still need something bigger. Note that the Eureka Copper Canyon 6 is much the same as the Jade Canyon 6 for substantially less money, but it has fiberglass poles over the top (instead of aluminum), and uses a somewhat lower grade of waterproofing. Pay your money and make your choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great car-camping/ basecamp tent! VERY EXPERIENCED CAMPER I highly recommend this tent for its category: 3.25 season, Car camping and for families or those who like a little more room. Pros: Very water resistant - we put this tent through 3 days of non-stop rain and it did not leak at all (unlike its predecessors - we have used eurekas for 20years - aka u-leak-a's) STAND ALONE - once all poles are in - she's up and in shape. 4 corner pegs optional but recommended QUICK one-person setup and pack-down time: 8minutes up 10 down (tent has to be rolled tightly (towards door with with zip slightly undone to fit in bag)) Can be packed up and set up with flysheet attached - allowing for reasonably dry tent if set up while raining! HUGE living space with vertical walls and therefore almost complete useable space. STANDING ROOM (with room to spare) Reasonably lightweight (for its class) Reasonably compact when packed GREAT visibility out of tent when windows rolled up - 4 side large mesh window panels - no-see-um resistant. Great in hot weather - mesh roof, and large mesh window panels Good in colder weather - most mesh can be zipped up - lighting reflector panels for roof also keep a bit more heat in (wish there were 2 more) Does not need any guy-ropes unless in extreme conditions. Cons: non serious enough to cut a star.... NO AWNING - would be the only reason I am not awarding 5 stars - it would make entering and exiting the tent easier when wet, somewhere to sit when its raining without being inside, somewhere to remove gear without dragging wet/muddy clothes inside, something to stop the rain being channelled into the tent when it is raining and you are entering/exiting the tent. No groundsheet - as while waterproof, the floor will not remain so for long if used without one (I would recommend you get a separate groundsheet) Front door zipper a little weak, and catches tent material on occasion when opening/closing. Vertical poles could have benefited from being aluminum (not steel) to save on overall weight. Pole joiners are plastic - while sturdy - these might be a weak point and not last Flysheet clips - these are plastic and are a weak point - although easily replaceable. Pack bag could be slightly larger and compressible with a handle or strap for ease of carrying. Carry bag could also be larger, it would benefit from a carry sling. Color: personal preference - I would prefer some more natural tones to blend into the wilderness a bit more. Jade/lime punch/mineral grey - read: bright fluorescent lime and near-white grey!
