Gel-to-Shell® Process:

  • RIP open the foil bag and remove the soft shell, exposing the protective Shield to air activate EvoShield’s Gel-to-Shell Technology™
  • FIT the soft, flexible Shield in position and smooth any wrinkles. The Shield will begin to harden in about 10 minutes
  • WEAR the shell for 30 minutes for the Gel-to-Shell™ is complete. Once fitted, the Shield is permanently molded to your body shape for maximum protection

    Easy To Form

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've you've had experience with forming any other Evoshield gel-based product, you will be able to easily form these. The gauze will stick to the velcro, so just be patient when pulling everything off. Make sure to let it cure overnight - don't rush into using them same day. Nice thing is if your player outgrows the forms, you can replace only these and not the entire shin guard.

    We bought the complete catching set a couple of months ago. The gel on one leg guard got a small tear in it. I filled out a warranty claim and within a day evoshield was replacing them.

    Great Concept But Needs Some Redesign

    The foot plate being attached to the molded leg piece via Velcro instead of the actual hard shin guard cause the it to easily tear away. If this was permanent sewn to the shin guard in the upper section it would warrant the 5th star. As is we will probably have to replace the lowers again before summer

    Little Difficult

    I bought these knowing we would have to mold. Need 3 adults to get setup for molding and hardening. Will need to order another set because one set incorrectly.

    Great Product But Be Careful Sizing

    I bought these for my 13 year old 7th grader. He loves the one on the left leg but apparently we curled the side over a little too much on the right so it’s digging into his calf when he squats. I didn’t realize these get hard like a cast after you form them. Great gear though.
