Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good entry level kayak I have had this now for a few weeks, I have had it out a total of 6 times already, I've had it in a large lake where it is smooth and very stable to the point I can stand up confidently in smooth water and paddle gently. I've had it in a river where it was also smooth and I comfortably did a 9 mile trip. I've had it in a faster flowing creek with a bit of Rapids where it handled decently. Now my take is this, overall I would recommend it to casual people looking to hit the lake and/or a deeper river flowing smoothly. It is a 12 foot kayak that isn't the easiest to turn super fast like needed in Rapids and faster flowing creeks. Hope this helps!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best kayak Bought this few years ago. It is a bullet in calm waters !! And very stable for a sit-in kayak. The best feature is probably the seat. Little pricey but worth every penny. If you are going to be a beginner kayak, wait and save money to get this kayak rather than getting a cheaper one. Because this will be the only kayak you will ever need and the one you will keep for ages. Very light to carry. Tracks well. Handles choppy gunpowder river waters pretty well. Cup holders are useless. Mount a rod holder on the front cup holder. Paddle holder is a great feature. Storage space is plenty. Rear rod holders could be deeper but still very good and do the job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 years and still going strong left a review 4 years ago and thought it worth updating. Bought 2 of these 5 years ago and another 2 for the kids 4 years ago. Still loving them!! We usually use these on 5 or 6 daylong/weekend/weeklong trips a year, mostly on local ponds and lakes. They handle as well as everyone on here says they do. Everything on them has held up really well; hull, seats, footrests, dry box lid gaskets. They get stored indoors over the winter, but stay outside all summer. We don't drag them over too many rocks, so the bottoms are scratched but haven't gotten too banged up at all. Looking forward to several more years of good use. Excellent investment! Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good Price, nice tracking, mediocre product for anglers I am an experienced kayak angler. I purchased this kayak because I wanted a new one. The sale put it at the right price point. It tracks very well, but the cockpit is a little narrow. There isn't a lot of storage, so I wanted to use an anglers crate (milk crate). There is also NO WAY to strap on and level a crate on the back of this kayak. The grooves built into the kayak's in the rear indeed compartment don't match anything. Even with the floating compartment on the back, you can't make a crate work.I wanted an anglers kayak. This is nice for simply going for a ride, but I do not recommend it for a functional anglers rig.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Kayak! I was torn between a sit inside and sit on top kayak. but i fish a lot in the fall and winter so sit inside won out for warmth and dryness. The Eagle Run however has a lot of the room and advantages of a sit on top. Im only 5'7" 170 lbs so i can move around in the cockpit easily. i strap a cooler in the back well and my tackle box slides easily in the front where i can lean forward and get it easily. I have no problems moving around because this kayak is very stable. yet it paddles easily. not a speedboat, but good enough. I love the rear well, i strap a cooler there and have not used the removable pod yet. Installing a front rod holder this week.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Eagle Run Kayak I purchased this to use for fishing, it states that the capacity is 500 lbs which is not the case. I am 6’ 250 and the yak sat below the seam when paddling. Lots of drag, not very stable especially when maneuvering to grab your fishing rod from the rear holders. I sold mine after 3 uses and purchased the Old Town Predator 13 sit on top kayak. This kayak is more money but is everything it is advertised. The Eagle Run May be best suited for smaller paddlers. Also there is not accessories track on this yak. If you purchase it for fishing I suggest you install some and get a yak attack pole mount.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great recreational kayak! I bought a few weekends ago on sale at a GREAT price ($200 off list) and took it out for the first time over the weekend. I read a lot of reviews and did research on various kayaks and chose on this one due to the features, value and looks. Just as the reviews read, it track very well even on a slightly windy day, roomy cockpit (i'm 6'2 220) but it could use a better console. The seat was comfortable on a one hours ride, can't comment beyond that. The weight it not too bad but I would not want to have to carry it a long distance. All in all you cannot go wrong for the price. You can also customize to your liking just like anything else, which seems to be what most people do anyway.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice boat for the price! I bought the boat because I have a sit on top which is wider and heavier, and therefore a little slower than the girl I go kayaking with(who also has a sit in[purchased at the same store]) Also, I wanted both types. When I went to use it, 1 of the foot pegs was broken. About 5 minutes out, the 2nd one broke. So rather than go through the hassle of bringing it back, having charge backs and all that nonsense, I went to a local kayak shop and bought a higher quality set of foot pegs and installed them myself. I have used it twice since and am quite happy with the boat. FYI, the new foot pegs were $35 if you would like to reimburse me. Some how I don't see that happening, so I'm not holding my breath!
