Rated 5 out of 5 by from First kayak - and a great one I have always enjoyed fishing but have never been able to afford a boat. I started watching these Eagle Talon kayaks here on Field and Stream, and when they came down in price, I took my 15 percent email coupon to the Asheville, NC store and got the camo Eagle Talon. Glad I did - I just got out of the water with its maiden voyage. I am thoroughly impressed! It was stable, has lots of helpful features like the rear rod holders and the front holder, and after adding a GCI Seatbacker, it is comfortable. Without the Seatbacker I would give it a 4 due to the weak seat. Love it and can't wait to get back out on the water this week!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Field and Stream Eagle Talon12 I got this Kayak on sale at Dick's for $399 , I did a lot of research on kayaks before deciding on the Eagle Talon 12 and glad I did as this is an excellent kayak very stable , steers and moves quick, easy to handle in the water, it is a bit heavy but I bought a wheeled dolly for $40 on amazon and it works great , you would be smart to replace the seat as it is very uncomfortable and virtually no support . It does however come with a lot of extras that most other kayaks don't have like the anchor trolly set-up with anchor and rope scotty mount with pole insert as well as many other built in extras . A good buy and worth the money for the fun.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unstable for heavy people I spent a lot of time researching kayaks; sit ons, sit ins, etc. and decided to go with this one. One primary reason was because it is supposed to be stable. Unfortunately, I have actually found this kayak for me to be unstable. It tipped me out the first day I used it, which was quite a shock as I have never been tipped out of a kayak before, and this one is supposed to be more stable than other kayaks I have used. I am a heavy person, but with the 400 lb capacity I have more than a hundred pounds of wiggle room. I am thinking that they should probably reevaluate the weight capacity for this kayak so others don't end up disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality plastic When I went to store I had planned on buying a lower valued model, but once I put my hands on the plastic the choice was clear. The quality of the boat ranks right up there with the most expensive models and yet is still light enough for me to load on top of my Suburban. You can add anything to your setup without fear of leaks. We Inshore and BTB and could not be happier with the setup. The money I saved allowed me to add the options I wanted. We plan to purchase another for my son. Great job F&S, keep up the great work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome kayak Bought a few weeks ago on sale , which made the purchase even easier . The seat is not that great for extended fishing trips ,but I upgraded the seat and all is good now . Tracks well and easy to maneuver in . Went fishing yesterday with winds gusting 20+ still pretty easy even paddling against the wind. I'm 6'3" 230 and this kayak is comfortable to be in .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Kayak! I bought this 2 years ago and there's not a single thing I can complain on. the hull is super strong and barely has any scuffs on it, and I use this a LOT. im 6'4" and fit like a dream. I even take my 9year old granddaughter out with me and she sits just in front of the front rod holder. super stable and never tipped it once and I use this on both fresh and salt water. if you buy this you will fall in love with it the same as I did. I got this for $399 but its worth the full price. I would buy another in a second if I decide to buy another kayak.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great kayak for the price I really do enjoy this kayak. I'm impressed with the way it handles on the water, it maneuvers well for a heavy 12 footer. But, the seat really sucks, like terribly. It's disappointing to spend $550 on a boat only to turn around and spend $125 on a way better seat to replace this thing that couldn't cost more than $2.50. Also invest in scupper plugs, unless you enjoy a wet butt. The green ones at Dick's fit perfect. Also, you're not standing in this kayak, so look elsewhere if you're interested in that. But overall I'm happy with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the Chesapeake Bay!! Love this kayak. Only thing is the seat is stupid. I put a boat seat to replace it and it is all good now. Cuts through waves and holds my cooler and a bunch of other stuff. Its a kayak, so yeah, you do get wet if you don't know what you're doing. If you get a seat that is elevated, hence the boat seat I use, your butt won't get wet. If you're worried about getting wet, buy a sit in kayak. But if you flip, its a pain in the butt vs. a sit on top that allows you to get back in real easy and will never sink compared to the sit ins. Also has fishing rod holders for us fishermen and fisherwomen. K Bye.
