Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for tall people I bought this kayak three months ago and i hate it. Im 6'2" tall 220lbs and this kayak is too small, with the foot pegs all the way forward I still need about 5 more inches of room. And no aftermarket seats fit it. I used it 3 times and im already trying to sell it

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't buy this yak My wife and I bought two of these talons. We kayak on the Lake of the Ozarks, which is one of the largest and most used recreational lake in the USA. I will give you a heads to toe over view. On each end are handles to pick up and carry the Talon. These work good, but you could see that they could possibly break or pull through, these are heavy yaks and we load them down. The front storage area has a rubber lid that is hard to get off and hard to get on. But it does seem to seal well. The fishing pole holder is janky at best. The adjustable foot rests broke first outing. I took the foot rest rails and swapped the ends, because the end closest to the seat had stops on the end so of the rails. The cup holders are stupid shallow. And they built in two of them. The seat sucked and we up graded after first outing, spending 160 more bucks. There is a coffee can sized holder right behind seat. Not sure what that was designed for, it just holds water. The width is good ; i am 5'11" 250 lbs. The first outing was a couple of hours up the Big Niangua river and not really any problems except the seat sucked. The second outing we crossed the Big Niangua main channel and up the Little Niangua tributary. Coming home was rough water and we made it back across channel. If you have ever been on the Lake of Ozarks, you know the waves the off shore boats and cruisers make. Well I was about 200 yards from our cove when I was hit with several big walks coming from everyside. It swamped me and and my PTSD service dog. I could get the yak turned back over to I threw my dog up on the bottom of the yak and made my way to shore. I got the yak right side up and headed home. When I got to our ramp, I was exhausted and pulled my yak up and took out the plug; and drained several gallons from it. I mean a lot of water. No wonder I was whipped. The next trip we took was 6 miles, which is about the runs we make. No problems. This last week end we took a drop in to the Big Niangua just after the dam at Niangua Lake and went 13.5 miles down the river to Haha Tonka state park. The last part of the trip is out in the heavily used channel and I could not believe how heavy my yak felt, we got to landing and pulled out and again we took on a ton of water. Well, I took these back to Dick. I am not certain where water is coming in, but I like to go yaking with out taking the water home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the set up, very user friendly. The only complaint is that the foot adjustments dont stay secure, and not long enough to be comfortablyoverall Overall I am pleased with the purchase, would be better if you offered drain hole plugs

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it just needs a better seat Love the kayak. I would give a 5 star but the seat that came on it was horrible i had to replace it after the first trip out. But after putting a new seat on i love it. Good bang for the buck

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fishing Kayak Bought two of these from Dick's. Outfitted them through ACK for more comfortable seating, lanyards, dry bags, and box. Plus fish gear. Performed great! My son had so much fun, he's buying two!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent kayak especially when on sale! I bought this kayak for $400 during the Memorial Day sale. I have used it a handful of times and I must say, I am very satisfied with this boat. Pros: -I am 6'4 246lbs and have no problem stretching my legs in the boat. -Tracks well for a heavier flat bottom boat. -Plenty of storage. -Plenty of room to customize. -Stable. -Includes built in rod holders and pole leash. Cons: -You will get wet in this boat, but you'll have that with most sit-on-top yaks. Easy fix- buy scupper hole plugs. Two for under your butt and two for the back well so that it keeps your items dry and boat lighter in the back end. -Rod holders behind seat are in an awkward spot for someone of my height. I constantly rubbed my fishing poles with my shoulders and it limited my paddling motion, slightly. -The turn lid for the middle compartment leaks. It isn't a fast or heavy leak, but expect water inside at the end of the day IF you don't have scupper plugs under your seat, or if it's going to be a wet day. -Can't fit standard milk crate in back. -Foot peg place holder broke on first trip. -The seat could use an upgrade. I removed one star because of the foot peg issue. To be honest, I'm not sure how that made it through design&production with such an obvious flaw. I understand that for the price, you're not going to get the highest quality product, which is why I didn't take off stars for anything else. That being said, having something that basic, yet so essential, break on the first trip on a BRAND NEW boat is downright unacceptable and irresponsible on F&S's part. Granted I have no need for them with my height, it's just frustrating to me that I already have a broken piece on my new kayak. I would understand if the part gave way due to years of wear and tear, but on the first day? Come on....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great with the kids I bought this Kayak for Mothers day and have taken it out on the river 4 times. The back cargo area is big enough we put an extra seat in it for my 3 year old and my one year old sits on my lap. We have no tipping issues despite 2 moving kids and one that jumps of the kayak to swim and crawls back in. Tracks great and is very easy to maneuver. Me and my husband can easily lift it on to our vehicle and the 3 year old can even pull it up to the river bank. I have loved it and want another for my husband, just waiting for a sale!
