Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great paddle, light, doesn't make your hands cold If you can catch this paddle on sale, it's a great buy. Some reviewers say there are better paddles in the same price range, and maybe there are (depending where you live) - the price is the only reason I didn't mark this a 5. It wasn't overpriced, but not the deal of the century either. But I bought this specific paddle for a reason. Fiberglass paddles are light and don't make your hands cold as if you were using a cheap aluminum paddle. One reviewer said his or her paddle wasn't light - don't know how he or she measures, but my 7 and 9 year old kids have these (as do mom and I). Again, would I pay full price? I'd probably wait for a coupon or sale - Dicks has them often enough.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it's supposed to do...move water I bought this along with my new Shadow Caster kayak. I don't know much about all the differences in kayak paddles but this model is a lot nicer than the entry level, aluminum one they sell for 59.99. For a 10 dollar difference in price you get a stiff fiberglass, 3 position shaft to change the angle of the paddles and some padding. If your doing a lot of paddling yes you would be smart to wear gloves, it's constant friction on your hands so you can get blisters if you don't. This paddle moves a lot of water in my opinion, my kayak is made for fishing and is a tank at 95lbs empty and about 330lbs with me, all my gear and the kayak and I have no problems getting up and moving. I thought there would be some flex to the paddle with all that weight but if there is I don't notice it. So far it's been a great paddle. Make sure with any paddle you get one that's long enough for your use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from good price, but much better paddles in the same price range It took 3 tries before I found one that had the holes drilled right. Once I did I was excited to test it out. After about an hour, my excitement faded and I went back into shore an got my other paddle. Here's my issues: A) If you are a low angle paddler (I am) this is not for you. It doesn't push enough water B) It's too short. I usually use a 240cm, but thought dropping down a size would help with weight of the paddle. I didn't. C) This paddle feels light, but it really isn't. It's not near as stiff as other fiberglass paddles so you are losing a bunch of energy to flex. Is this the worst paddle for $69, of course not. It beats anything that comes in a package with a kayak and the cheap aluminum ones you find for $40. Does it come close to a comp or other fiberglass paddle? Nope. I'd return it if I could, instead I'll either sell it online or throw it in a closet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fiberglass is the way to go! This is a lightweight paddle compared to the others. I used it once so far and it is very easy to handle in the water. I had to exchange it because I originally purchased a 210 centimeter one which was a bit too short for me-i got a 220 and it was perfect. I am 5'5" and use a Pelican Trailblazer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Adjustable Paddle This paddle is lightweight, adjustable in size, and helps move the kayak very well. It is made beautifully and has the curves at the end of the paddles which help it to steer the kayak easier. My dad and I only used it a couple of times so far, and loved it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Paddles For The Money Bought two new upper grade kayaks and needed two sets of new paddles to go with them. Found these Field and Stream FORCE paddles in black (we only wanted black). They are light, easy to push together and to pull apart after use (push button operation). Are made of material that will hold up well in our almost daily salt water kayaking. Pole has built-in comfort grip area for nice hand holds. Blades push water fast or slow easily..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight I bought this when I purchased my Eagle run kayak. I've used it 6 times in less than a month. I have used it on the lake, river and a fast flowing creek with Rapids. So far it seems to be well built but I cannot judge how long it will last as I've only had it less than a month. But I can honestly say I have used it quite a few hours a day 6 times and it is quite lightweight and gets the job done!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good paddle but not cheap It's my first paddle for a kayak so I don't know what to compare it against. All I can say is that it is strong, and light weight. It seems to paddle well. I paddled for about four hours and didn't get really sore. I understand that the aluminum paddles are heavier and can really make paddling for long distances a bad experience.
