Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasted one day I bought one of these and the tip broke on the first fish. I had 4lb test so it wasn't a monster fish. The best part? The warranty link on this page doesn't work. That was an expensive fish.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Rod I got this rod for use on my kayak, it works well, and the price is right

Rated 4 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT FOR THE MONEY I was wanting a rod and reel to use in the smaller streams near where I live. I went to Dick's to see what they had. I settled on the Inferno rod but they were out of the ultra-light reel. A very helpful sales clerk went to the back to see if they had any but they did not. I asked if he could sell the display and he said yes. He even loaded it with 4 lb. test line for me. I have used it a couple of times and I really like it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Exellent value bought this rod for my 10 y/o daughter. we went out two days ago on a local lake and she hammered the blue gills, sunnys, small bass and even got a 16 inch blue cat. rod performed perfectly, transmitting bites setting the hook and landing the fish. very happy with it. Only out one time so far so cant give it five stars but so far so good. I am so impressed with field and stream rod I may buy the tec lite for myself and see how that handles.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solid rod at a great price Solid rod at a great price. The real is a bit cheap but the rod is very solid and will handle good sized fish with no problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inferno Rod I use my inferno rods for small river channel catfishing. I purchased the 7'6" MH 2 piece wich work very well pulling cat out of heavy current and brush piles. My only complaint is that I couldn't get them in a 1 piece. My first fish was a 14lb 4ounce fish, the pole handled it nicely. Very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend them to future customers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5 stars for a $25 rod For what it is, this is a really nice rod. Certainly worth the low price tag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rod for the price! This is a great rod for the price. Excellent strength and quality. Mix and match with any reel to make your perfect combo.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Maybe just a bad batch? I purchased this rod on an in-store recommendation with the intent to use it for a summer before upgrading. Balance felt great with my reel. Action felt really nice and I like the sensitivity. But on my first outing the tip snapped. I'm seeing reviews that are either stellar or one-star so my thought is that maybe some faulty rods just sneak out onto the floor. I intend to exchange for the same rod and give it one more go. This many good reviews can't be wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Justy what I needed was looking for a quality rod to give as a retirement gift to a firefighter, not only is it a good rod it has flames on it. PERFECT!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice rod at reasonable price Nice lightweight rod for pan fish and small bass, which is what I fish for. Good flexibility. Comfortable grip.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good rod for the money. Purchased rod for light tackle bass fishing. It performed as expected.
Date published: 2015-04-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior Performance At An Affordable Price! This rod has all the features and performance of other rod's costing 4 times as much. Sensitive to the lightest bite. Ultra light in weight yet strong with backbone to spare. Casts like a dream. I wish they made a 9' that was rated for up to 2 ounces. If they did, I would buy 5 of them!!!
Date published: 2015-04-04
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cast great, slightest bite can be felt. A great price at Dick's could not refuse the purchase. This was my first split handle rod, to me the handle was to long and harder to cast. How ever once line was in water rod handled beautifully felt the slightest of bites and when using lures you could feel the lure working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2 years and going strong!! BACKGROUND: salt grassflats, kayak, redfish/trout/flounder/whatever, 10-12# test...purch HIS602ML in-store, Spring '13; see my prev comments back thenFOR THE MONEY: ***** (5 stars!) This rod passes my longevity standard! LOLJust beginning to show tiny bit of oxidation at a few of the guide-feet. I'm good for at least another year, maybe more. This is not a high-end rod, let alone a custom. But for the money, and the conditions I see it in...I'll definitely go back and get another! And I'll convert my other rods to this brand, once they are at end-of-life. Might even purchase now, in anticipation....This light rod has handled all the fish one would expect, including 20 minute, 1/4 mile sleigh rides. Partner filmed...I watched...I'm amazed that this medium-light rod took it all with perfect grace, just as a much higher-priced rod would. Backbone? In reasonable hands, yes...all the backbone you need, in this easy-to-cast-all-day rod. That some writers-in have had major issues:1) mfr defects are possible, no matter the price. Did the store/mfr make good on it?2) operator headspace 1 - with a fairly light rod and a bigger fish on, one cannot horse it...you must play it, know when to crank, know when to let her take line, and NEVER try to lift into boat using the rod.3) operator headspace 2 - care, maintenance.... I handle these things with kid gloves during transport (they're the tools of my trade when I'm miles from nowhere in the yak), and rinse well with fresh water immediately when I come back in (I carry jugs of water for this purpose)I'm not affiliated with the mrkter or mfr in anyway. That I'm willing to write all this speaks to the way this rod has impressed me. I consider myself a VERY serious fisherman, and am willing to turn on others to my discoveries. That's all.I trust the brand is still adhering to the same quality standards that were built into the rod I purchased 2 yrs ago. If so...I know where my next new rod is!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fishing pole Quality rod for an affordable price and it is a nice option that the pole splits to two pieces and also that you can choose your reel to put on the pole
Date published: 2015-01-14
Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2 n 1 It's a 2 piece but feels like a one piece. I recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value strong back bone, top sensitive, grip is comfortable.can't believe this rod is only $29.....I would say others are selling same grade at $59.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fine rod for light fishing I bought this rod mainly because I was travelling and wanted a 2-piece to get it on the plane. This is a pretty decent rod. It is light go for 4-8lb test line. I was using 6lb braid.I was looking for a little stiffness in the tip as I hate the Ugly Stik type rods that cast like a wet noodle. I thought this one was pretty good. Last year I used a 1 piece rod the same length (6.6) and felt that one put a 3/8 oz lure out slightly further. So, really for the price and what I was doing this was a very good deal - it's nice looking as well.
Date published: 2014-08-06
Rated 1 out of 5 by from broke after 1 week of use went on vacation and used this for 1 week before the tip broke off.
Date published: 2014-07-30
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not bad, but also not good. The reason that I bought this was low price. But after several days I returned it and bought abu garcia rod.
Date published: 2014-07-30
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good rod First it is not a high end rod, so don't expect 200.00 performance. It is light weight, has nice action. I have a Lew's spinning reel on it with 4 lb trilene XL on it. Works good for rooster tails, light stuff. Did catch a 11 lb catfish with it, unexpected and it did not break. If you are looking for a cheap rod this is the one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from great until it broke for no reason I got this rod a couple of months ago and used it maybe twice. I got it because i needed an inexpensive two-piece rod for portability. I was impressed with the fact that i could get a carbon rod for this price.Yesterday, I was putting on a new lure, and pulled down the rod tip (slightly), when it broke below the second guide. I will be doing my best to get my money back from my local Dick's, because this product is clearly poorly made.Just put the money towards something decent.
