Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good! Slow drying for wool and synthetics. I bought these to help my feet stay warm during a sea kayaking trip with cold mornings/nights. Night one we accidentally ended up in a muddy location and these socks got soaked in the mud. In the morning I washed them and strapped them on top of my kayak near me so they wouldn't get splashed by waves or paddling. Thing is, they never dried! I kind of wanted to wear them at lunch time . .. nope! Still soaking! Hoped they would be dry by evening . .. . Nope! Still a little damp! Luckily I had the other pair in a dry bag and they successfully kept my toes warm all night. I was just astounded how long the other pair took to dry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Incorrect Sizing for Women! As a woman's 8.5, I purchased the size medium, per the size on the package. They were massive. If they had been a little big, I would have kept them, but there was no hope of shrinking these in order to have them fit.I would have exchanged for the size small pack, but I really did not like the elastic at the top of the cuff. It was really unforgiving and I imagine it would be uncomfortable after wearing for long periods of time.I ended up returning the package and getting a pair of SmartWool socks. I'd rather pay $20 for one pair I will love to wear than the same price for two that just sit in my sock drawer. These Field & Stream socks are simply not cheap enough to justify the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Comfy and Warm I honestly didn't expect to be as satisfied as I am with these socks. I have historically gone hiking with my standard Hanes cotton crew socks. Recently, as I've been stepping up my game, my feet have started feeling it. I don't wear insoles but I decided to try out thicker socks, just to see if it made a difference. I'm no footologist, so I can't explain exactly why, but these socks have made an incredible difference. They even help with the sweat! I picked up another four pair, as I have started to wear them around the house while doing chores. They have made such a difference. Who knew?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great socks at a really good price These seem to be good quality socks, at a great price for high merino wool content. Most socks that are at least 50% merino cost twice as much, and I've also taken advantage of Dick's frequent sales. This was a recent purchase, so I can't speak to long term wear, but after two washings and machine drying on low heat, no noticeable shrinking. If you are able to air dry, I'm sure they'll last longer. I prefer the OTC to the 11 inch ones, both are comfortable mid-weight socks. Compare to regular cotton tube socks for shoe fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product was very comfortable We bought these socks for our hiking and safari trip to Africa. Needed a light weight sock that would hold up to the weather. We experienced rain storms and very hot weather while in Africa. Socks keep our feet as dry as possible and kept our feet from blistering while wet. I would highly recommend this socks

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a very good thick wool sock I bought these as a cheaper alternative to Smartwool. Two pairs for twenty dollars, I figured they would be ok. After further inspection at home and trying the sock on, I discovered the construction is much lower quality. The fit was not right. The sock was too large for me, but if the sock had a tight fit, the small holes and gaps in seams at the heal and elsewhere (poor construction), would have opened up further.I'll be returning these soon and throwing down for more Smartwool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great socks, great price Never bought merino wool socks before because they are so high-priced compared to other socks. But I have to admit, these socks worked great hiking 27mi over 3 days. They were comfortable and my feet didn't feel sweaty, even in waterproof hiking boots. I also bought another more expensive brand along with these, and they both worked equally well, so buy the cheaper brand. As far as I could tell, merino wool is merino wool.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good buy Pretty good for the money was having promblem finding warm sock that didn't make my feet sweat to bad. These have been best I've found so far kept feet warm most of day in 28 to 35 degree days fishing as long as I moved around alittle. Seem just alittle to snug fitting I think is why feet got cold after sitting still he or so. At end of day fewer was just barely damp. Good buy for price.
