Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well made I bought this bag last fall and have taken it on a couple trips the longest being overnight. This bag is fairly resilient to light rain even without the rain cover (which is always there if you need it). One of the main reasons i got this bag (with the exception of the great price) was the fact that this bag is hydration bladder compatible. I was able to easily fit a sleeping bag, hammock, atlas straps, hammock rain fly, food, a 3L hydration bladder 2 jackets, a couple extra clothes articles and other essentials. This pack is all I think I would need for anything up to 3 days when hammock camping and 1-2 days solo tent camping. I have no big complaints with this bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality and Comfort at a Modest Price I bought this 48L for my son (8 year old cub scout) and the Field and Stream 65L for myself. (See my separate review for that pack). This bag seems to be made really well as far as the materials including the straps, clips, and padding and has many similar features as higher priced packs such as a built in rain cover, zippered pocket on the waist belt, and a quick access zipper to the main compartment on one of the sides. The waist belt straps seem longer than other packs I have tried so a plus for the hiker with a bit of a gut. For women hikers: though I could not get the 65L to fit right, the 45L's shoulder straps sit much better, the horizontal chest strap adjusts higher, and the pack is overall very comfortable. Unfortunately, I am looking for something bigger for myself but my son enjoys wearing this pack. It's currently a little big on him but I feel this bag is built to last for a while.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable! I bought this bag to backpack through Asia in the winter and it was perfect (if you can pack light)! I was able to fit all my supplies, including my below zero sleeping bag. I found the drawstring and hood were very practical in regards to pickpocket/theft concerns. After two months of planes, trains, hiking, everyday wear and tear, this backpack is still in fantastic condition!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good backpack for the money I bought this but returned it and bought the 65L Field & Stream backpack. My thought was that the 65L is much more 'comfortable' -- more back support, bigger straps and waist belt -- even if you only need it to carry 45L of stuff. But this was a good pack and deal for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good storage! Worked well for an overnight hiking trip. Attached rain cover kept my gear dry; while drinking pouch compatibility kept me hydrated all weekend long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fine pack A fine pack overall however a couple seems did tear on the first outting. The features and storage options worked out well.
