The zipper broke on my High Coast Hydratic Trail Jacket. I’ve owned the coat for less than a year and the single most important functional part of a rain jacket broke, rendering the coast mostly unusable. This isn’t the first Fjall Raven zipper that has broken either. Very poor quality.

I bought this jacket two months ago, and I really like it. However, I've only worn it a few times and haven't even washed it yet. The 'HYDRATIC' text at the end of the left sleeve is already peeling off. Is it coming off too quickly? If I had used it for six months or a year, I wouldn't mind.

I can confirm that you'll become wet in this jacket very quickly. I can't say whether it's because the jacket not being waterproof or because of an internal moisture. I expected much more from the brand

Soaks through after 20 mins in moderate rain.

After 30 minutes in rain this jacket is 50% saturated. On the plus side.. it looks good and fits nicely. Conversely, the matching pants do seem to be living up to the waterproof claim.

Not waterproof per other reviews! Very expensive jacket that does not protect in a 30 minute shower. Sizing is fine.

The jacket is good for light rain and it should keep you clean of the water FOR some hours. However, water seem to get into the fabric making it wet overtime so I recommend having another jacket or clothes under it. or just buy a Gortex jacket.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wear this around my college campus over a sweatshirt. It keeps the wind and water out. It is comfortable and looks nice. It actually keeps me pretty warm on a milder winter day.

I don’t wear this as a shell jacket I wear this as a warm weather rain jacket and its perfect for that. Im 6’ 250lbs and muscular build and I prefer XL with a tshirt underneath

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great example of function meets fashion. Has worked incredibly over the last year. Been through the whites and Acadia and have stayed dry.

I've been watching a number of reviews prior to purchasing this rain jacket, and finally pulled the trigger when I had an opportunity to try it on in store. The mustard colour is great in person, but what I'm really impressed with is the build quality. All of the reviews talk highly of how well constructed this jacket is, and I can't disagree. What I wasn't expecting was how the slight stretch in the jacket would clearly separate it from other similar rain jackets from other brands. It makes it a very comfortable rain jacket. My only knock? Sizing is really confusing and I'm glad I was able to try it on in store. Based on the size guide, I would have purchased an XXL online. I have a 46" chest (6'4" and around 225 lbs). My Abisko trail fleeces are XXL. My Abisko Midsummer jacket is an XL. I bought a L. This isn't without precedent: I have a Greenland jacket in a L, and it fits fine. You might say "you'll never be able to layer with it!" Well... I went looking for a thick fleece in store and had it under the jacket and it fit fine. So yeah - this jacket fits large. I think I would have been fine with an XL, but I like the slightly slimmer fit of the L.

Amazing product. I bike and hike in the northeast and this jacket has held up in some pretty bad weather.

This jacket feels like very high quality, and there are a lot of small design elements that add up to make it an excellent choice for both everyday wear and for outdoor use. The sleeves are longer to allow freedom of movement, the jacket hem is longer so that it goes well over the belt line, the vent zips on the sides seem more intuitive than ones under the armpits that some other rain jackets have (I know heat pools there, but I’m not going to walk around with my arms out to vent that heat. The side slits work better for active use) and the multi-layer design really helps to pull internal moisture away. I haven’t tried the jacket in a storm or extremely heavy rain (so I can’t say for certain if it would protect in a hurricane or not - if that’s what you need it for) but it definitely is %100 waterproof for the rains that I’ve been caught out in.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very happy with this coat. It breathes very well so you don't feel like a wet sock during a humid/raining day. The color looks great and it does take a little bit get used to the zipper being opposite than normal.

It's soft and light. I always wear L sized jackets however this one runs a little bit big and M size fits perfect (6ft 192 lbs athletic build). It does the job keeping you dry after walking for a couple of hours under heavy rain in Vancouver although I had some damp areas on the shoulders from the inside. Nevertheless my wool sweater was dry.
