Go Back To The Old Fit Or Make Changes To The New

New fit is terrible. Shallower pockets forcing my phone into my waist line and cause major discomfort when bending or moving. Crotch is way too tight now also causing discomfort while sitting and bending over. Even got the size up and the waist is too loose now and the thigh area is too tight. The fabric squeezes the heck out of my thighs near my hips while bending down, kneeling or lunging. The old for was 1000x more comfortable. Room in the crotch. Longer pockets putting my phone farther down my leg so it doesn’t smash into my wait and hip bones. Deeper crotch area allowing more room for movement while trekking and hiking. If they are going to keep this “improved fit” they need to make the hand pockets longer and maybe change the crotch to the stretch material like the ventilated. Unfortunately can’t recommend these new fit after owning several models. Only good thing is they added different inseams for shorter guys

Everything I Wanted

Wonderfully comfortable and fits as expected. Durability seems to be good so far. Everything I wanted from these trousers. Recommend

Too Tight

I have always had a size 50 in these trousers I am 34 waist and 34 leg. I can hardly get my hands in the pockets of the new style. If I go up to a 36 waist with the new style they will be too big around the waist. Why did you change the fit?

Life Savering Pants!

I have really enjoyed these trousers since I got them. They are great for hikes and I often wear them when gardening. Last summer I mad the mistake of leaving a three pronged long handle weed pulley with tine up on my driveway. I had to move a very heavy pallet out of the area. I fell baackwards with my cafe landing ontop of the tines. The pallet came down on top of my leg! The tight weave of the pants stopped my leg from a terrible puncture wound. I think it may have saved my life!

Nice Pants, Too Pricey For Quality

Newer models are not built to the same quality. Had a pair fail within a few weeks

Loved For Years But Things Are Going Wrong

I have had about 5 or 6 pairs of these trousers over about 5 years and wear them all the time, Recently they have changed the cut, and the most recent pair squeeze things that shouldn't be squeezed, and lead to a dull ache. I'll try a larger size, but at present I can get both my hands comfortably between the top of the trousers and my body, so I worry that the fit might be bad with an even larger waist. Furthermore, I agree with other reviewers that the zips are substandard, they can't put up with much washiing - the zipper should be changed for a stronger one.

Major Fail.

New fit is awful. I’ve lived in these for four years. I have no idea how a change like this gets approved through multiple rounds of consideration. The seat is so tight and the rear rise is so obviously less. How could this be considered an improvement in a working pant?

Mediocre At Best

Honestly these are mediocre at best. They began to fall apart in less than a year and at two years they are unusable. I bought these to wear working as a guide and they are just subpar. I wouldnt buy these again. Great pockets, nice fit...but poor quality overall

Great Pants, Average Lifespan.

I have these in a 46 short and they were my new favourite trousers.. I'd inititally rate them as 5 star in terms of fit, material, functionality. They've mostly held up well over a couple of years. I love the pockets and the colour. However I was expecting them to last longer, they have developed holes, stitching has come apart and they've not done anything other than normal day to day use.

Don't Fit!

I have owned 4 other sets of fjallraven pants, all the same size 46. I figured I would order a 46 in these. It turns out the waistband is way too tight and so is the crotch. Honestly, I expect better from a brand like fjallraven. These will be returned.

The Workhorse Of Trousers... In Some Scenarios.

There is a reason why many companies equip their teams with Vidda Pro (standard) trousers. This is largely attributed to the durability of the trousers (see exceptions below). I have tested these trousers now for several months and can say that they generally hold up to this perception. The closely knit G-1000 material is durable, very windproof and moderately water-resistant (note: not water-proof). This means that you can reliably take the trousers into forests, brambles and other abrasive environments. They will hold up. On the other hand, the fabric properties (waxed and unwaxed) will result in poorer breathability, especially when you work out or hike. The material will quickly feel clammy to the naked skin. This is probably why the Vidda Pro Ventilated trousers were developed, that said, I have not tested them. Another potential downside of the robust material is a perceived lack of flex and range of motion, i.e. the material will not move with you when hiking and might therefore feel a bit restrictive. Also, I have noted that after 2-3 months of use the treads in the crotch come loose, which is what others have also commented on. Summa summarum, the standard Vidda Pros are robust work pants in the right environmental conditions. For me, this is mostly static work in forests/ outdoors and the occasional hike, especially in windy/ drizzly conditions in a 0-15C temperature range, although I have other preferred pants with better flex/ range of motion for aerobic activities and for warmer weather. PS: It would be nice to have these pants in other colour ranges, e.g. shades of blue and red.

Unbeatable Trekking Pants

Hands down my favourite outdoor pants. I’ve used mine for everything from fishing to hiking 50km+ through the northern rockies. They hold up well, have well thought out pockets, and dry extremely quickly if waxed after bushwhacking through wet brush. I will continue to buy them as long as Fjallraven produces them.

Great But Not Water Resistant

I have several pairs of these and had them over a period of three years. They are robust and really comfortable. However, don't expect any degree of wet resistance even with waxing. They let water through immediately on contact.

The "Improved Fit" Is A Worse Pant.

The "Improved Fit" is a disappointment. They have a tinier waste, shorter inseam, and maybe worst of all, shallow main pockets. I am sad they changed the perfect pants. Please bring back the old fit and pockets.

Vidda Pro Pants Are Outstanding!

About to order my third pair of Vidda Pro pants. This is an outstanding pant for the PNW. They aren't as breathable as Kebs, but far more water-resistant. They wear like iron and are super comfortable for working or hiking. I'm 6' and 185, with a 34" inseam. The 52 R size fits me almost perfectly (just wish they were a tad longer in the leg). I bought a pair of 52 L and they are much too long in the leg and crotch. I saw a previous review where the individual had issues with zippers. I have had four pairs of Keb and Vidda Pro pants; one pair is 10 years old, and I have had no quality issues with any of them. Wash them in cold water, hang dry and they will last longer than your car.
