Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Kayak! I have had the kayak on the water twice now. It was much sturdier then I thought, it has a very sturdy hull and so far seems well built. I am 5'11 195lbs I carry 30lbs of gear and fishing equipment with me, and had no problem with maneuverability or how low I sat in the water. I purposely flipped the kayak, to see its tipping point, as well as to see how difficult a deep water resurface would be. Flipping the kayak upright was a breeze, and the re-entry was even easier. The tipping point for the kayak was surprisingly far, I am not a great swimmer so this was a plus for me! I would highly recommend this kayak, and cant wait to take it on a multiple day float trip!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good starter kayak Took this one out for the first time on a lake with a bit of a windy day. It handled well and I bought a longer paddle than normal because I could dig into the water better. The kayak did very good for me until I forgot the plugs in the bottom. When finished I had a wet butt with the water coming from under the seat. The seat was uncomfortable with no back support. I'm changing out the seat you can find many ideas on youtube for it. My main reason for this style of kayak was so I can get in and out better with my bum knee. It doesn't rock back and forth while getting in it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent Enough I first bought this kayak in mid may during the boat sale. Loaded it up on my car and by the time I made the 25 minute drive home a screw had that holds the bungees had been stripped and was missing. I brought it back the next day for an exchange thinking it was a fluke. I've now had the new kayak for a couple months, and only used it a couple times. The same thing has happened; I tucked a life vest under the bungees and a screw stripped right out. I'm annoyed and not sure how well it's going to actually hold up over time but we'll see.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy! I have owned this kayak for 1 year and fish 1-2 times per week. I mainly fish shallow creeks and often unintentionally scrape the bottom. Due to a design flaw in the rear of the hull I have two cracks in the plastic. The rest of the hull has held up but its only a matter of time before another leak occurs. Other kayaks made by Future Beach have not acquired similar damage fishing on the same creeks. I would buy another kayak from this company, but not this model.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My first kayak-Cayman 124 Took it out a tidal creek to the Delaware River near my home on a 3-hr paddle trip. It did very well and I was impressed with the stability since I had to stand up, get in/out and drag it over some fallen trees in the creek. I'm about 175, 5'11 and I did not feel unsteady in it. It has a flat bottom so going over shallow areas and some submerged trees was not a problem. I like the locking storage bin at the bow and it has a plastic liner so it keeps items fairly dry. The seat bottom slides around a bit but at least it sits up enough where your bottom is not getting wet. I kept the scupper holes closed under the seat and opened the ones toward the bow to drain water. It is not readily in stock and I had to travel to another Dick's away from my local area to pick it up. Also it was missing a part of the fishing rod mount but looks like it can be replaced by Scotty's parts. Overall a good beginner kayak for calm water paddling and fishing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great small kayak I bought this kayak a couple of months ago and too about 2 weeks to rig it up with a storage crate, anchor trolley, replaced the scotty rod holder with Lowrance Elite-4 HDI fish/depth finder, and added a stadium seat from Bass Pro Shops. I have found the kayak extremely stable and easy to maneuver, also tracks well also! Having owned a 14 foot kayak before I wondered how it would do with my 195 lbs and lots of gear! I ams so pleased! I only gave it 4 stars due to the poor scupper design. Due to the weight distribution the scuppers under the seat and at the front do not drain without putting more weight forward. Also there are no scuppers in the rear storage area. I do not go out in windy or choppy conditions so this has not been a big problem. All in all, a great kayak for $400 sale price!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Review Purchased in February. This is a nice little kayak. Nothing fancy. On rivers, tourists in rental yaks pass me effortlessly. Wind pushes it around easily. Dry storage is located up front where water gets in often. This is My first yak so I'm not upset but for the price I was hoping for better product. Seat sucks. I bought yak bak or whatever it's called for 100 bucks. I can stand up in the kayak on flat water but average person would spill. It has enough room for a milk crate in rear and that's why I bought it. It's OK for fishing and exploring rivers lakes lagoons and bays but inshore Gulf of Mexico was not a good idea. I didn't flip l, just kept swamping. My next yak will be 12 foot but this is fine for a starter yak! Plenty of options for upgrades along the sides.
