Fenix 8 Is Worth The Upgrade

I bought the watch about a month ago. So far no issues. Long battery life. Clear, bright display. Love the features (most of which I’m still discovering).

Excellent Watch, But I Still Prefer Mip

I borrowed a Fenix 8 AMOLED from a friend to see what all the hype was about. The display is undeniably impressive. Everything is bright, sharp, and easy to read, and Garmin has done a great job integrating the AMOLED screen into the Fenix lineup. That said, after spending time with it, I found myself missing my Tactix 7 and its MIP display. The MIP screen feels simpler and less distracting. It is always there when I need it, but it does not feel like another screen competing for my attention throughout the day. I have been a Garmin user since the Fenix 3 and have owned most of the Fenix models since then, along with a few Forerunners. Garmin has consistently made outstanding products, but I hope the company does not lose sight of what made these watches popular in the first place: durability, battery life, simplicity, and a true tool watch feel. The Fenix 8 AMOLED is an excellent watch, but I hope Garmin continues to support and invest in MIP displays for those of us who prefer a watch that stays in the background rather than being front and center. Also, wearable prices are starting to reach levels that are difficult to justify, even for long time Garmin customers. If Garmin can continue balancing innovation with the practical features that built its reputation, it will keep many loyal users happy for years to come.

Garmin Fenix 8 51mm Amoled - Home Run!!!

My new Garmin Fenix 8 51mm Amoled has a lot to live up to as it's replacing my Garmin Fenix-5 Pro that absolutely has performed above and beyond the call of duty for the last 8 years and is still going strong today. Right out of the box the Fenix 8 is hitting home runs everyday. I absolutely love this watch. The information it provides and the simplicity of the software is top notch. Very happy with my purchase. Way to go Garmin!

Great Battery But Annoying Pairing With Iphone

I’ve gone from an Apple Watch to The Fenix AMOLED w/ sapphire screen. I love the watch and the main reason I changed was because I wanted longer battery life. My watch will last 21 days with my current settings and I absolutely love that. My main frustration with this watch is it unpairs with my iPhone 14 PRO MAX once every two weeks. It’s very difficult to pair it back up. I have to delete the Bluetooth connect from my phone. I have to restart my watch, the phone and the app multiple times. The whole process takes easily 20 minutes. For the amount of money I paid for this watch it’s frustrating and a huge inconvenience. This never happened with my Apple Watch. I understand that “The Apple ecosystem “ plays nice with one another so getting this watch I was prepared for some issues. Other than that I do love the watch and would recommend. I hope that garmin comes out with a fix for this.

Lukinmaksym

I have been using the Garmin Fenix 8 for about a month, and overall I am very happy with it. The battery life is excellent, the GPS is accurate, and the health and fitness tracking features are very useful. The watch feels premium and is comfortable to wear every day. However, I have noticed a few issues. There are occasional lags in the interface, and sometimes the watch incorrectly detects a cycling activity when I am simply driving my work truck. This has happened several times and affects the accuracy of my activity data. Despite these minor issues, I am very satisfied with the Fenix 8 and would recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality multisport smartwatch.

A Major Flaw, No Fix For It

everything about this watch is excellent except for one giant flaw the dimming nightmare, that fenix 8 amoled suffers, making the watch unviewable in semi darkened rooms, and no way to adjust the dimming or brightness when this happens. I returned this watch, since its impossible to justify keeping a thousand dollar watch that is un viewable Garmin refuses to acknowledge this nightmare, nor will they offer a fix for it I'll never buy a Garmin product again, so sad

Quality Control Issues

I bought the watch and it has something corrupted in the software! The start up sequence isn’t right! When I turn off the watch it’s takes forever to turn on and because the correct sequence isn’t functioning there’s no way of telling what’s happening with the watch! So if that’s an issues then what else is potentially wrong with it! I spoke to Garmin and they said they will be coming out with a software update to potentially fix the problem! Unfortunately my drop dead return date is in a couple of weeks so if that solution doesn’t hurry up and present it self! I will be returning the watch! Pretty disappointed!!

Nice Upgrade From Epix Gen 2

I upgraded from the 47mm EPIX Gen 2 Sapphire to the Fenix 8 version for the larger, clearer screen and the voice features available with its microphone & speaker. Those are all great as expected. I was surprised to also find the physical buttons on the Fenix to be more responsive and providing a good "feel" when pressed. The UI is also better, but I did have to take some time to read the manual or watch a Garmin video or two about the features.

Great Upgrade

Couldn’t love it any more. Upgraded from a Fenix 6. Visibility, audio prompts, scuba mode.

Poor

I bought this a month ago and have nothing but problems… I’m on my 3rd device. Everytime it does an update or is turned off the power plug has to be plugged in to get the screen to turn back on. I came from Apple Watch Ultra, and honestly so much more user friendly. I had such high hopes with the Fenix 8 because of friends that had it and loved it. But I’m far from impressed.

Fenix Keeps Getting Better

I have owned several of the fenix watches and will keep upgrading when available. Great watch! Love the functionality, design and battery life.

Fix Auto Dimming Light Sensor

Excellent watch in every aspect... the only problem is the automatic lighting sensor; it's rubbish. They should fix it with software and make the Fenix 8 the best watch for workouts.

Great Multisport Watch The Smartphone Is A Bonus!!

I've have the Fenix 8 for my active lifestyle. Great battery life, I get around 19 days when I have to charge. I could get 21 days but don't want to risk it. I'm active and record my cycling, running, hiking and sleep. The set-up was easy using the Garmin Command app and Connect IQ for my customizations and the voice commands is great addon. Using the watch as a phone is a plus.

Love My Fenix

Easy to customize and read. Great features to assess progress. Awesome looks!

Epix Pro 2 To Fenix 8.

Coming from an Epix pro 2. Fenix 8 fit is amazing. Same features and the way to swap watches is seamlessly. My only complaint is the action buttons. You can only save 3 favorites so you better just use voice commands (watch it on YouTube) and this will save you many steps of locating what exercise to choose. Known bug, wrist movement and the whole screen is not bright.
