Great, Once You Have The Settings Custimzed

I have had the Forerunner 55 for two weeks and it is finally doing everything I want it to, and has mostly stopped doing things I don't want it to. It may seem strange, but I actually like to use my running watch for running. So when I want to start running and the watch starts suggesting workouts, it really interferes with the intended function. Silly me did not realize that you actually have to SELECT the suggested workout so you can stop the suggestions. Meanwhile, I have not figured out how to stop the tips from popping up. Remind me of the old MS Windows paperclip that got in the way when you were trying to work. All of this is a critique of the software, not the watch. The watch itself is just fine. Easy to read. I was even able to get the clock face looking how I want (I chose analog). It picks up satellites quickly, easy to charge, and the battery life is very good. I have it paired with my phone and everything seems to be working how I want. I have loaded workouts onto the watch. The 55 seems to lack a few options (Cannot load a "custom" workout, and cannot opt out of final rest in an interval set - but these shortcomings are not a problem for me at all). I like the watch size and strap.

Best Watch 4 Runners

Besides the classic running and exercise features, the one that blowedmy mind was the breathing feature (stress). It helps to relax and calm down. It alerted me that I forgot to keep breathing, hahaha! That was something great!

It’s Just Ok

I’ve had many Garmin watches. Got this for my special needs son to monitor his sleep, health, etc. The flashy marketing info describes sleep monitor. body battery, etc. Well that’s if you take the watch off and connect it to your computer and go to Garmin Express. Too much of a pain and hassle. So I returned this watch. Also didn’t like its not touch screen and has FIVE buttons you’ve got to learn what each does. My others have two. Overall not a fan of

Sleep Tracking Innacuracy

I have found that my sleep logs inaccurately it will say I’m asleep hours before I am if I’m laying in bed on my phone and will extend my sleep until I physically get out of bed it does not realize I am awake. Throughout the day it will add random sleep time as well from minutes to hours that is not “updating to be accurate” but instead adding random time on either end of my sleep cycle. The watch will all me also that I get little to no deep sleep and nearly half and half light and rem which feels wrong but maybe is just how I sleep? I can imagine that’s right especially along with the other sleep inaccuracies. I’ve only had my watch a couple weeks and am hoping it will adjust/calibrate in time to me? The garmin watch is great for a new runner to track everything else but not sleep which I was looking forward to.
