I am very pleased thus far. I got this as a birthday gift as a reminder that I am getting older and often travel solo. I have been using it to sent trip begin and end alerts as well as check in. It has worked quite well on two day trips thus far. I hope I will never need the SOS button; but glad to have it!

Happy to have an extra level of confidence going into the backcountry knowing I can call for help if I need it. But more so, it’s for the folks back home to feel better about me being out there. The inreach mini 2 is a really good tool to have! The S.O.S. feature alone is worth the purchase in my opinion. Being able to communicate when way out of regular cell service during backpacking, hunting, or any potentially dangerous activity, supplies you and those back home worrying about you with peace of mind! Ive seen complaints about the subscriptions being hard to understand, I did not have that issue. Likewise, people have mentioned they struggle with the messenger app. It seems pretty straight forward to me. However, I do wish that the InReach Mini had the option for weather forecasts without using the app.
