Disappointed

I bought this a few weeks ago for a northern Maine moose hunt. Along with convincing my good friend to but one as well. The communication between inreachs are so inconsistent. A message may go through in 1min or 1hr. Not at all what I wanted. It will get you home and that's about it. My wife's iPhone 16 has better satellite communication.

Works Like A Charm

Bought this for a trip to Appalachia and I’m glad I did. Had ZERO cell coverage but I was able to communicate with home with my InReach mini. The preloaded texts are great. Customized texts are a little cumbersome, but not impossible, even for a Gen Xer. I secured it to my backpack with a D-ring and it was completely out of the way. It definitely adds a little peace of mind.

Connect

Planned a trip to Alaska in Yukon hunting moose. This was a remote area & I knew no phone service existed. I used in reach to stay in touch with my friends & outfitter.

Excellent And Love The Usb-c

At this point, I am only buying things that charge on a USB-C, which I'm really glad the Mini 2 has. Other than that, I don't think there's much difference between the original Mini and the Mini 2. I personally prefer having buttons (vs the inReach thing that you can only operate from your phone), because I do sometimes adventure without the phone (shocking!) and also my phone often dies on longer trips (no surprise), and I'd rather not charge two things

Horrible.

Takes forever to send messages. Up to 4 hours. Can’t trust it
