Great Features

I got this for hiking the Appalachian Trail and it brought me a lot of security. I wish the instructions were easier though. I like the Explore feature. Frankly it was more helpful than the Far Out app. I just wanted to be able to see where I was and where I was going.

Not Worth The Money

Complete waste of money. Not an accurate GPS. Adds significant mileage and is always cutting out unless there's a clear view of the sky. I live in the country so there's trees all around. Used twice and wish I could return.

Mini 2

This is my third inreach. All of them have been flawless. I’ve only used them for an emergency once. The response was Immediate and effective.

Inreach Mini 2

Bought this unit to replace an old one from another brand. Haven’t used it yet but the setup process couldn’t have been any easier. And it’s Garmin, so what else really needs to be said? Expecting perfect performance and reliability. The long battery life and recharge ability, along with the very attractive sale price, made this choice a no-brainer.

Life Or....

Worth every penny. Seriously, why would you go without this product?

Able To Text From Anywhere.

A friend of mine did not want the in reach any longer so I purchased it from him. We were 50 miles offshore with no cell service and 2 was able to keep in touch with the wife during the whole trip.

Not Good

Used on the PCT so family members could be reassured with my inreach mini. Not easy to use. Many times recipients for my check ins and messages did not receive them until later either hours and even days! Frustrating also, most times, garmin said check ins or messages could not be sent because of weak signal. However, I was in open skies overhead. My big complaint is that i was unable to know whether check-ins and messages were sent. The only way I knew was by actually calling by iPhone. So was a garmin any good or use. Remains questionable.

Top Notch Satellite Communicator. Simple, Reliable

My new inReach Mini 2 is simple, reliable, pairs easily with my phone so I can type messages there and has unfailing satellite connection. Plus I got it at a great price! It has everything I need and nothing I don't. It's much better than the previous two satcomm devices I used.

Great Peace Of Mind

This is a great little device to give you and your family some peace of mind! Subscription plans can be stopped and started easily, the app interface is intuitive and logical. Well worth the investment!

JBennett

I bought mine about 3 weeks ago and I love it I commercial fish and I am in the ocean 4 to 7 days at a time no phone service out there and the Garmin mini 2 helps me stay in touch with my girlfriend and I need that and so does she it's so easy and inexpensive and she can always see where I am and talk to me thank you 😊 🙏 ❤️

Purchase Another Sat Device

Difficult to use to send actual texts with + without phone app. I tested before a trip to remote area and seemed to work fine but then once there no one could get my texts using the Mini 2 alone or using app. The weather update feature did work fine. Should come with better instructions and I still need to resolve the texting issue with Garmin. Would recommend purchasing another device with better instruction/ease of use.

Set Up Process Very Difficult

Bought this about a month ago I am extremely dissatisfied with it due to the set up process. After two days, returned it to the merchant got a full refund found out I could use my iPhone just as easily off the grid. Save yourself to trouble.

Disappointing

Reassuring to have the SOS feature, messaging worked well. GPS and mapping feature are disappointing and worse than other applications with cheaper price tags. Multiple times while hiking had the screen go completely blue and unable to track our location or have previously downloaded trail maps loaded. Would restart the app and it would work briefly, but then return to a blue screen. We'd just purchased and no updates were needed. Will definitely be cancelling during the trial period, plan to use a better tracking application like Gaia as we have in the past.

Not For Me

Purchased this about two weeks ago for when I go fishing off grid. This device without a doubt is the most frustrating experience I have ever had with technology. I cannot understand why a device would need two apps to setup. Well this one does. After two days of trying to set it up for use I returned it to Cabelas for a refund. Garmin help, yeah good luck with that. On a more positive note while fishing i found out my iPhone had satellite connectivity, which allowed it to function just like an Inreach, except it was free.

Love How Compact It Is! Would Recommend

I bought this for my disperse camping and off-roading! It’s great to have piece of mind knowing I can still connect to loved ones and get help if ever needed.
