Highly Recommend

This has been the best investment. I feel very safe and secure knowing I can reach my mom where I am and when I am safe back at my car. If you are even an average hiker… it’s a great way to stay safe out there! Highly recommend to anyone who ventures often and alone.

In-reach Mini 2 Is A Great Buy!

Bought this to use while Primitive Camping. Took it upstate NY last month for the first time and hiked into an area w no service of any kind and it worked perfectly to let my family know I was safe. A little delay with messages here and there but 90% of the time got a response within a minute or two, even when a bit cloudy. Also worked for them to contact me. The App to have it go thru my phone instead of trying to type into the Garmin worked perfectly!! Best part is you can pause the subscription in between trips without incurring the start up fee. Battery lasted the 3 days I was away and still had 54% left. Great product highly recommend.

Peace Of Mind

Excellent piece of mind and insight. Afford and not to expensive

Great Buy

very easy to use. delivered well above and beyond what was promised.

Great Piece Of Mind Communicator.

This little communicator is great. Not a huge learning curve and very helpful in sending out messages while out of cell phone service. My husband and I went hiking in the Smoky Mountains - out of cell service range, we messaged our kids when starting out and the communicator send updates to them every 30 minutes. They were able to message us back with no problem. The offline maps kept track of our location accurately. Since it was blue toothed to my phone we were able to follow our location with the Garmin Explorer app on my phone's larger screen. Would highly recommend this communicator even when you are in cell service areas.

Confusing At First But..

So far so good. I live and work in Yellowstone so the peace of mind that comes with this is awesome. A little confusing to use at first. The maps ok the explore app are also really nice. L

You Need One For Your Next Backcountry Trip

I got this for a trip into the Grand Canyon, so my loved ones could track my progress through the trails. I ended up needing to contact the rangers out there, and this device got me through - and the Garmin SOS messaging team was really helpful every step of the way. My only gripe with the Mini 2 is that I wish the battery lasted longer. It died the second morning, but admittedly, I had been using it heavily for a few hours. I would rather that it not be so "mini" and instead had a bigger battery. Overall, though, I strongly recommend this little tracker. I was not in a life or death situation, but the Mini 2 could certainly be a lifesaver.

Good Device But A Bit Of A Pain To Learn To Use

Good device but a pain learning how to use it. I even downloaded and printed out the manual but it was incomplete. Had to search thru their help menu to find what I needed. While it's possible to send messages directly from the device, it would be a real pain as there is no keyboard. Not to worry though. Download the Garmin Messenger App and also the Explore App and pair the device to your phone. Then you use the phone keyboard to send messages with the Messenger App, and get weather reports and input waypoints via the Explore App.

Works Great!

Very nice to be able to check in with loved ones. Lightweight.

Saving The Day

I love my InReacch Mini 2. It’s my permission slip to be in the outdoors as much as possible. For my wife to know where I am, to receive updates from me, and to pass on knews if needed puts her at ease. In February 2025 I was on a 3 week solo backpacking trip. While crossing a rockslide I fell and broke my wrist. After setting my wrist and making a sling for it, I used the Mini 2 to communicate to my support team of my bad news. We put together a rescue plan, I hiked out to a place where they could get to me, and 5 hours after my fall I was on the way to an ER. My wife still lets me go on my solo trips, all because of my Garmin Mini 2. My review of it…I LOVE IT!

Could Be More User Friendly

Why so many apps? It’s confusing. On iPhone i took a while to Find how to start traking

Boomer@86

I bought it a few weeks ago and the few times I used it its been great

No Brainer Purchase For The Backcountry

I mean we all know why we own this, we know why we bought it. But to use it in the field and have it work flawlessly is so nice dude. Worry Free messaging with friends and family while in the backcountry is pretty awesome, but knowing that I have SAR a tap away is very nice to know. With that said, always know your limits and don't do anything you wouldn't without the Garmin!

Great So Far.

So far it's been great. Took it to Big Bend National Park. Never had any issues.

Easy To Connect To Iphone

The device was easy to connect to my iPhone 14 Plus and I've used it a few times. I seem to be having problems making the Explorer app track my trips in real time. I've found this to be frustrating since my MapMyWalk app does this really well but only works with WiFi.
