I was looking for a simple/basic watch that could record metrics of activities, and that's what I got. Didn't want/need smart features (my phone is sufficient for that) I thought it would be a bit expensive for what it was (still not worth full retail), but pleasantly surprised with its offerings. I was concerned that it would be slow/laggy and that operating the watch via buttons would be clunky or complicated -- the watch is not slow and the usage of buttons is intuitive and it was quick to pick up (took a few days to develop muscle memory). I was also genuinely surprised at the depth of information that the Garmin mobile app provided (from the data recorded on the watch). I'm not an expert in any related field, but the data and subsequent reporting/visualization seems very consumable to the end user. With activity every other day - the watch lasted almost 2 weeks for its full charge (100 -> 0). (I will probably move to a once/week charging schedule).
