    I’ve thrown a lot of soft plastics over the years, but the Gary Yamamoto Senko, Texas rigged, is hands down one of the most reliable baits I’ve used—especially for farm pond bass fishing. The action on the fall is absolutely unmatched. Even rigged weightless, it has that slow, natural shimmy that drives bass crazy. In smaller farm ponds where fish can be a little more pressured or picky, this bait really shines. I’ve had consistent success tossing it around weed edges, submerged timber, and along pond banks. The Texas rig setup keeps it weedless, so I can fish it right in the thick stuff without constantly getting hung up. What I like most is how versatile it is—you can fish it slow on the bottom, give it a few twitches, or just let it sink and let the bait do all the work. The bass hit it hard, and even on tough days when nothing else is working, the Senko still produces. Yes, they’re a little softer and don’t last as long as some other plastics, but the catch rate more than makes up for it. If you’re targeting farm pond bass and want something simple and effective, you really can’t beat a Texas-rigged Senko. Highly recommend—this is a must-have in any tackle box.

    Probably my favorite lure of all time. Fish it wacky or texas rigged. Drag it through weeds, acts weedless. It works on a variety of species as well.

    The Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits Senko is hands down the #1 soft plastic for bass fishing. I have 100% confidence anytime I tie one on. I usually rig it weedless with a 4/0 hook and fish it through lily pads, weeds, and heavy cover without issues. The salt infused into the plastic really makes a difference. I truly believe bass hold onto it longer, which leads to a much better hookup ratio. The action and fall rate are hard to beat. My advice: buy the bulk pack because you’re going to catch a lot of fish with these!
