Well Built And Great Design

This is perfect for camping trips or hiking it fits in a bag very nicely and compacts down small

Best Gift For Dads

I purchased this as a gift for my dad for Christmas-he loved it! He said he was going to put this with his emergency gear in his truck. You never know when you might need a shovel. He said he actually used it in the garden and worked great!

Mr

Sounds like the Gerb needs to improve this product a bit. Most of the items I've bought from them have been stellar

Don't Buy

Cheap metal connecting shovel to handle, broke evenly first use in snow. Handle is slick and should only be used on dry days. It's packable however

Your Title

I'd rate it a zero. Received as a gift. Have never been able to use as it is impossible to extend. Very frustrating to say the least.

Great Compact Shovel

We used this on our first backing trip last weekend and it worked great! We had to dig our pit in some tough soil with roots and this shovel preformed very well! It's sturdy and very compact. The only downside is it's a little heavy, however, for the quality it's worth having the few extra ounces compared to others. It also had a built in hammer which honestly seems kinda useless especially since most people carry another type of hammer anyway. If they omitted it it would decrease the weight making it perfect!

Same here, used it for the first time to dig out some soft loam to level a camp chair in my hunting blind and the blade attachment bracket fractured. 6-8 strikes until it failed. Very dissapointed

Sounds like Gerber has a quality problem. I've had mine 10 years or so. Have beat it very hard through the years. Using for things it probably hasn't been intended for. Still going strong. My buddy has (had) one, threaded lock stripped out with minimal use. Maybe some were built in 3rd world country?!?

Just What We Were Looking For,

Very compact, yet completely functional. The shovel was actually steadier than I thought it would be.

Prepper

Picked up a Gorge for my get home bag. It's more spade than needed really. Decent for light digging and it's light. Tossed the box and decided to look at it again and found the bag inside, very bottom, with some documentation that guys never read.

Compact And Sturdy

Bought for grandson who drives alot in deep snow. Small head, short handle work well in tight spots. Compact enough to leave in truck all the time.

Human

I just got this unit for Christmas 2015 and I also didn't get a nice carrying bag. Bummer would like one that attached to mole gear. otherwise strong and sturdy.

Camper

Got my shovel a year ago, barely used it. Already snapped a day broken.

Perfect Size

My 10yr old son bought this shovel for digging. He has a metal detector and needed a shovel to dig. The size and weight is perfect for him.
