Great Knife

Great knife for the price reliable and lightweight

I received this knife in a gift exchange at my work. I am part of a state government group that responds to chemical spills and other environmental hazards. We work in the outdoors so having a good knife is an absolute necessity. This Gerber has become my go to work knife. It is sturdy, takes a edge quickly and holds it well. Thanks for a fine product.

Best Folding Blade Ever Owned.

I have only bought 1 Freeman. I have had this blade for a lot of years. I think the reason for the broken blades, I read about in some of the reviews, is from trying to use it as a screwdriver or pry bar. I have seen blades break many times from them not being use for its intended purpose (that will happen with any knife, make or model). When you use a knife to cut things, it will get dull. That's a given with ANY knife. My Freeman holds its edge very well. When someone asks to borrow my knife, I always ask what it is they will be doing with it. To many knives have been broken by people not using them properly. My Freeman is built very solid and has always been reliable. I use it every day. The sheath, however, is not wear resistant. My sheath is completely worn out. To me, this is normal. I carry mine in the vertical position on my right side. Very easy to get to quickly, and it's out of my way. I would very highly recommend this knife to anyone (who knows how to use one, lol).

Great Knife

I bought this knife at a local store about 4 years ago and my only regret is that I didn't buy 2. For the price, it's an awesome knife. My only beef is that it can be just a little bit uncomfortable to hold with the textured metal on the grip.. and it tends to not be that great at holding an edge.. but like I said, for the price, this knife is awesome. It looks like rhey don't make it anymore but I wish they'd bring it back.

Freeman Mess

I received my folder freeman from a rep had it 6-8 months. Went to sharpen it and it felt like a knick in the blade. I rubbed it with my finger and felt a crack, pushed a little harder and a 1/2" chunk out of the edge, back at the end of the blade fell off!! Actually shocked, had a Gator for years, was excited about this knife. Not so excited anymore

Master Plumber

This is my 3rd in 5 yrs. The most recent only lasted a few months when the blade just snapped in half. I love the knife because it was heavy and very strong. Guess my last knife blade was from a bad batch. Going to try another company now, 3 strikes.

Outdoorsman

Looks like a nice knife, but the blade cracked after almost no use. So, I wouldn't recommend it.

Best Knife I've Carried!

I picked up this knife for a shop over 5 yeara ago, still carry it to this day. If you wear jeans with the little pocket above your bigger right front pocket, this knife fits perfectly in there so toss out whatever belt case Gerber gives you for this knife and keep it in that pocket. I have worn holes in my pants from keeping this knife in that spot on a daily basis! The knife is strong, well balanced, feels great in the hand. I've had some blade wiggle but it's a simple retightening of a bolt. I've worn off the rubber from the grip and I know if I ever get another one of these knives (which I will) I'm going to put my worn grip on the new one! Only downside if that little bolt that fixes the wiggle, it strips really easy. If they used better metal or a different head like a robinson or something, it wouldnt strip as easy. Ive used and abused this knife, I use it camping, hunting, general work, no problems. Holds an edge really well, easy to sharpen.

Easy To Open

much to heavy but it has a nice grip not the type of knife that i had expected yo be

Solid

Got this in Montana, Libby, when I was on a fire and needed something I could hammer. That was 2 years ago. Still my go to, I carry it in my 511 cargos, I can see some of the concerns above but I buy in person not online for my EDC stuff so the ratings they made are not telling the real story of this knife. Hold it before you buy it I’d say.

Love The Knife.

Great knife, comfortable handle, use it for work a lot.

Your Title

Very good knife, but the second day I used it the sheath came apart. I bought the knife to wear on my belt at work. Its a good knife but too big to put in your pocket, very disappointed.

Trades Man

bought this knife after owning a browning for two weeks that the tip bent .I have had this knife for more than two years and it is an every day carry .so far so goog .

Not Bad

Not bad, I wish it kept its edge longer, comes very sharp from the factory. It's a strong knife whose butt can be used for pounding. The only problem i have is it needs a star nut wrench to tighten the blade and handle sides if they come loose. I do not possess this wrench. I contacted Gerber.

Mattad0r

I've had this knife for approximately two years. This is a wicked knife!!! I use it so often I just keep it on my belt every day. It's got a great weight ; it feels sturdy.
