Great Knife

If you prefer light weight knives then this knife isn't for you. This thing is clunky to say the least, but it's very well balanced. So far I haven't seen any sights of wear on the handle caused by taking it in and out of its sheath like some of the other reviews talked about. As for the sheath I don't have a single negative thing to say, this thing is awesome. It came with two adjustable leg straps and unlike the gator pro machete it's 100% compatible for both right and left hand carry which is huge for lefties such as myself. Finally, with a field sharpener built into the sheath gerber thought of every thing. I did a lot of research before purchasing the LMF ii and for the money nothing else came close to having as big of a bang for your buck. I'm sure there are better knives on the market but not for under $100.

Usa Made, High Quality!

This is one of the few Gerber blades still made in the USA. I love the grip and it has good heft. It could be slightly better balanced but overall is an excellent knife. They say you get what you pay for... and this knife is worth the few extra dollars. The release on the sheath takes a little breaking in, but it is MOLLE compatible and they included a strap for drop/thigh wear. I am very satisfied and will be purchasing again as a gift.

Gerber Lmf Ii Infantry Fixed Blade Knife

Nice, heavy duty knife. Versitile, holds a good edge, and sharpens well. Though this a good survival knife, it is not a knife I would carry every day. I use it when camping or I keep it in my survival or 72 hour kit.

Great Knife Ruined By Sheath

I am returning this knife today. The sheath fits so tightly that the knife handle is abraded after 4 or 5 removal/insertions. The handle will not last long at this rate. Too bad, the knife is what I expected and wanted.

Great Survial Knife

I used a knife similiar to this one for 20 plus years as an infantryman. Easy to handle, always at my side.

Great Sheeth Quality Knife

[$] for this knife is a joke, bought it last week online for [$] - free shipping.

Solid Buy

I got this for Christmas in 2009 and have yet to sharpen it. I've cut down several branches, and one log that fell on my chainsaw. The blade is still sharp enough to shave my hair off the back of my arm. Only thing I don't like is the tightness of the sheath...

Poor Craftmanship

I haven't even used it yet but I'm really disappointed w/ the craftsmanship. The case fits around the knife too tightly and has already started to pull the rubber off the handle by the blade. I wouldn't recommend this knife at it's current price.

I Love This Knive.

This knife gets the job done.

Best Knife Ever!!

this knife is great! its extremly sharp right out of the box and can cut through almost anything!i new gerber was good but i didnt know they were this good!

Heavy Duty

Great knife. I've batoned many heavy logs with this knife and it's still sharp. Great for camping, hiking, or wilderness survival.

"If I Had To Pick A Weapon!"

Good for cutting and easy to apply in many situations. Doubles great as an axe in a bind and still cuts well after. A little difficult to sharpen but it can be done.
